OK, I’ll ask. Why is that process called “reduced?” I know a lot of med terms make little or no sense to the average guy. So many people are throwing that term around, I feel I missed something along the way.

This has to be reduced--put back into original position--soonest to reduce the risk of blood vessel & nerve injury, tearing etc. Once back in, if the patient is lucky, the risks for further harm and loss of blood supply to the tissues is minimized. Then they can work on CT etc to see what else happened.

Oh, and once reduced, the patient--Tua, for instance--has a huge reduction of pain.
