Re: OKLA. USC and LSU Easy on OU, yes the Big 12 is down this year and I am no OU fan but I can tell you having seen OU they are VERY VERY good. Also I think Florida has a reason to say they are a top 3 team. Right now I would say LSU, OU, UF and USC all have a legit reason to say they are number 1..
Re: OKLA. USC and LSU We really need to chill out about USC. Who cares what people think? The proof is in the pudding. The answer will be provided on the gridiron. Besides, USC has a pretty respectable schedule this year if the truth be known. They beat #16 Nebraska tonight by a respectable margin.
Re: OKLA. USC and LSU 1 LSU 2 Oklahoma 3 USC 4 Florida 5 West Virginia Miss State & Virginia Tech are both 2 - 1 and we made them both look really bad. MTSU was our cupcake.
I know I am getting sick of hearing how USC is so good and that they deserved to be #1 even after they didn't play last week and that they have proved why they are #1...to me LSU proved it last week and just kept it up this week with RP as quarterback, not even our started and we still shut them out tonight....When does the USC train derail and when are other teams given the rights that they deserve....
you mean other than espn radio has the contract for all usc game radio broadcasts. nah...i'm sure there's no conflict of interest there.
The love fest for USC is in full force out here tonight. :angryfire No matter. The only two teams in the Pac-10 that look like they could give USC trouble is Cal and Oregon. I don't expect Oregon to do much as they have played some weak teams to open the season. Cal is the one to keep your eye on, but we know how they do in the big game against SC. :dis: Here's the difference between us and them: We look at our SEC schedule and have to take note of at least South Carolina, Florida, and Alabama right now. You could probably throw in Arkansas in that one as well. Then we have the SEC Title game, if we make it that far, to look at. That is 5 big games. What does USC look to? Oregon and Cal? They own both of them right now. Our schedule is tougher, as usual, and as usual, Muss is wrong. But it doesn't matter.
It sounds as though espn and musburger are trying to convince themselves that usc is the greatest team of all time again.
Re: OKLA. USC and LSU That, my fellow geezer, is a bunch of BS. First off, LSU beat the #9 ranked team in a manner that may set them back a couple of years (see ND and Miami). I don't see where beating the #16 (and apparently a tad over ranked) team while giving up 31 points can be considered equally or more impressive. If LSU gave uip 31 points to anyone, I would demand that we be dropped 3 spots:wink: . What is this "respectable" schedule? Their consensus toughies are (were) Nebraska on the road (I think OU will embarrass them no matter where they play); Cal, who outslugged an apparently pitiful Tennessee team at home; Notre Dame on the road (no comment necessary); UCLA (see yesterday) and one of the Oregons. Once they breeeze through that, they can rest up and prepare for the Crystal game because they don't have a conference championship game to worry about. Sorry, but with that schedule I'd have locked up my New Orleans reservations for the NC game.
PAC-10, no other comment necessary. On a different note, it was great to see Kentucky upset Louisville.
Re: OKLA. USC and LSU The answer to the rankings would be on the field. Would love to see all these teams slug it out right now!!! There is no way to truthfully figure out who's better than the other as they were not even playing the same teams to show their strengths. It's all guess work looking at apples and oranges, although I have to admit the grouping of the top five teams is probably close to the truth.
