First off: Great thread, points to you. OBJr has incredible skills at WR, and I believe he will develop into one of the best WRs in the country over the next 2 seasons. Not only does he have great hands, but he always finds a way to get separation from the defenders and give his QB a fairly easy target (and that appears to just be a natural sense for him). AND once the ball is in his hands.........shifty shifty shifty and QUICK! I am really looking forward to watching him over the next 2 seasons, at least (I'm already praying he stays all 4 years). Also, the fact that his parents were both outstanding athletes at LSU is like icing on the cake! I love seeing this type of legacy on the field for our Tigers! :tigereye:
Hopefully, OJB is running routes for Mett a couple times a week during this warm winter. Very excited to see what those two add to the mix next year.
Yes, great thread. I have to give some cred to OJB. He's definately going to be one of the greats at LSU. He has the tools and ability to be a great one! Granted, we have an unproven QB coming in this coming season. (Thank God! Never thought I would say that.). Once they begin to gel, it's going to be on. Good luck to them!
Great thread and OBJ will be a force next year! It was refreshing to watch the first video and see what a passing QB looks like and how much better we are with one. A ray of sunshine on this Friday morning:thumb:Thanks:tigereye:
Jerel Myers comes to mind when I think of freshman seasons. Believe he caught 50 balls his freshman year, and it was most productive freshman season for a freshman receiver at LSU. But I agree, ODB is a gonna be a good one. Polished route runner, shows good awareness of soft spots and has game changing athleticism.
They are. Apparently Mett, Shep, OBJ, Boone and the rest are already having throwing sessions. These guys must have a fire in their belly. I'm sure they have a point to make this season.
He better learn how to block. But I agree, he has tons of upside and had a great freshman season. Was definitely the 2nd best receiver on the team and it wasn't even close.
That Kentucky touchdown came right at us. He ran into the endzone where we were sitting, it was a thing of beauty. Watching him catch and run through the defenders at ground level coming right at you was really cool. I think he is the key to our passing game. IMO he takes RR's spot as the leader of the WR corp.:thumb:
He would have done better had his only catches not been 3 yard bubble screens the last half of the season...He's got the best hands I've seen since Michael Clayton, and could prove to be better since he's more athletic. I can't wait to see what he will do the next 2-3 years as a Tiger.
