How soon LSU fans forget... warning, rant ahead..

Players haven't yet bought into his system. Spurrier you say? Well, Spurrier knows the SEC and what it takes to win in this league, still USC is far from perfect... but they're getting there.

How come when Miles was named coach, a lot of the same people who are bitching now were OK with the fact that we were going to have a learning curve and growing-pains which pretty much eradicate the advantage you have with talent? When everyone was chirping about going undefeated, deep down inside, we knew that realistically we'd drop a few games that we should have won. I guess everyone failed to realize that in those games, our Tigers wouldn't look competitive. It takes a while for players to buy into a system. How long? Who knows?

I also think a coach is a lot more comfortable with guys he recruits. Who could argue that Saban had a gift of seeing beyond a player's usual role and making something greater out of him? I'm sure Saban had plans for some of these players that Miles may or may not be aware of. I'm not saying that is why there are growing pains, but it's surely a more positive scenario than, "Miles sucks," isn't it? The truth is, no one of us knows why we're not doing as well as we were hyped-up to be. What was our preseason ranking in 1998, what about Tennessee's this season? If you read this far you probably feel the same way as I do, you're happy that we're 10-2. Of course you're upset about not doing so great in the last two games, but that's natural, we love LSU.

All I know is that Saban sure as hell didn't do what Miles has done in his first season. And, I'm pretty sure LSU also had a wealth of talent in 1998. I'm not going to waste time looking up rosters and trying to compare talent, but there was talent on that team. There was obviously talent on Saban's first team too. Sometimes you jsut have to stop and smell the roses and enjoy what's going on around you.

I remember and i doon't want to go back either. Just one question........does the Big 12 have different rules that you have to call a timeout after a change of possession? Hey, that's basic coaching 101. What else does Miles need to go to school on to be an SEC head coach?

Miles doesn't even get runner up, in my book ... imagine the Skipper holding Nick's hand and taking him to Dallas to lobby for a Cotton bid the Thursday Night before a SECCG ... I think Nick would have told Skip to "GFH" :dis:

This Miles bastid is a friggin loser ... but the Skipper likes to let 'em hang around if they can "give it the ole College try" ... you might as well say Bertman deserves SEC AD of the year too ... :lol:

I wonder if Miles got under the table with Bertman at the meeting with the Cotton Bowl folks ... :shock: ... SEC Coach of the Year :lol:
