not necessarily a democrat mouthpiece. but some mouthpiece. perhaps a mouthpiece for red-style "moderates". how is that any less slanted? you dont have to represent the extremes to represent something. and they all do.

Fact: NBC, CBS and ABC were in the tank for Obama 2 years ago.

Occasionally, now, even the mainstream media cannot ignore the utter failure of Obama's economic policies and are forced to report unfavorable stories.

How Fox was created is interesting, but in the age of Hype and Change it develops that they were sorely needed.

i actually think that is correct. and perhaps they are more insidious than fox because fox is so obvious with bias, whilst these networks are fooling people into thinking thy are neutral, even people who read 13 page articles.

as awful as fox is, i think it is positively true that it is good that they exist.

Someone has to be there to report the stories that the kool aid drinkers don't want out. The media supose to hold government accountable. Msnbc will not hold dems accountable. Take the story of the backroom deals so obamacare could be passed. Take the state that would have been exempt that because partly due to fox was taken out of the final bill.

to illustrate my point (dont bother listening to my point if you are so smart you already read a 13 page article).

lets say cnn runs an hour long special on gay marriage. they examine both sides, talk to some preachers, some lesbians, maybe some lesbian preachers. you might say "wow, cnn is really even-handed".

and then fox runs a report, they give 80% of the time to pat robertson. you say "those right wing bastards".

but by running this story at all, they are pandering to people who care abou tthis issue. they are "agenda setting". there are basically two groups that care about gay marriage. gays and their lefty allies, and religious kooks. so by running that story, you are being biased towards those folks that are interested in that story, making an issue of what is clearly a non-issue. just because you are pandering to two opposing groups at once doesnt mean you are not pandering. so you are slanted, you are biased to people who care about gay marriage. so it is more complicated than just taking one side. because there are more sides than you realize. on gay marriage, there is also the "i dont care" vs the "i really care" sides.

so any news outlet, simply be choosing what they beleive to be relevant, they are setting the agenda, revealing their bias.

imagine there was a news source that was comitted to actualy flourishing of the human species, as measured by rational real measures like wealth snd health and prosperity. they would never run a story about reality tv. they would not report on celebrity deaths. they would not cover the michael jackson funeral at all. they would instead run stories about scientific advances in medical research and the politics of free trade. it would be a boring channel. their bias would be towards things that i think are important. and that would be good (in my view, but maybe not yours!).

and i genuinely am too classy to care about the kardashians. so the bias of cnn, a network that does report on what a movie star wears on the red carpet, is biased to the average american idiot that likes that sort of thing. and why is that? ratings of course. and so fox knows they get ratings for being biased. and bully for them, they are in it to make money, thats the american way.

so lets not go around sucking each other's cocks because we realize that fox is right wing and we read a 13 page article about it. all media is biased. watch whatever you want and stop acting like a prick.

3rd actually, but the underlying motivation for the article was to perpetuate hatred of Fox News.

You obviously didn't read the article.

I don't watch it either, but it's impact on this country is undeniable. Regardless of whether or not you watch it, it affects you. The fact that it affects you in such a negative way should alarm you, but apparently you don't have the energy or give a **** to read a long article.

I find this very funny because it's so often I see the GOP (which comprise up the vast majority of this forum) who are quick to point out the laziness of others. They obviously don't hold themselves to the same standard, not that it surprises me.

Oh I know you will, but it doesn't make you smarter or more informed. It makes you dumber and by a wide margin.

    Enjoy being stupid...
