There was David Gergen (whom Rush Limbaugh calls David Rodham Gergen) on CNN, who managed to make Harry Smith sound (almost) like a real journalist when he rhapsodized that Obama’s Denver speech was so much more than...well...a speech. “In many ways,” Gergen raved, “it was less a speech than a symphony. It moved quickly, it had high tempo, at times inspiring, then it became more intimate, slower....It was a masterpiece.”

The tone was so syrupy you could come down with diabetes just sitting in your living room listening to this stuff....

Are you stupid? You keep thinking that the topic is whether media outlets have biases. That is not the issue, no matter how you keep trying to steer the discussion to one that you wnat.

Give me an example of a network that was designed to drive the news instead of report the news or . . . STFU about it.

You take one Time magazine article and you attack CNN with it like it somehow represents CNN? That's error number one. You don't know the difference between CNN and Time magazine?

Error number two is just as egregious. You try to paint CNN as biased with one editorial article (that isn't even from CNN :lol but let's say that is was for the sake of argument. In science we call that an erroneous conclusion based on a sample size of one. There a plenty of examples of CNN "Ripping" Obama, too. Did you bother to check? Of course, not. And notice how I used actual CNN copy.

Dude, David Gergen knows something about Presidential speeches. :grin:

Gergen joined the Richard Nixon White House in 1971, as a staff assistant on the speech writing team, a group that included Pat Buchanan, Ben Stein, and William Safire. Two years later, he took over as the director. Gergen went on to become the Director of Communications for President Gerald Ford and President Ronald Reagan, a counselor on domestic and foreign affairs for President Bill Clinton and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, and an adviser to the 1980 George H.W. Bush presidential campaign. Despite his long-standing association with Republicans, Gergen has stated that he is actually an independent.

Ummm... That's the entire point of a title. It's written to draw you in. Otherwise books would need no cover. Instead we'd just see the first page in front. It's been this way since man has written books. By now it's a widely accepted format for writing. Surely even you are aware of this?

It's also exactly what it's such a damn shame and a tragedy. A couple centuries ago we were a country of free thinkers, throwing off the chains of taxation without representation. We've been through a Civil War and periods of enlightenment and industrialization and out of the ashes became the world's sole Superpower, pushing our language and currency as the international standards for business. We've proven to be much more intelligent in the past, but now we see a vast majority fall for the ploys of a man running a cable news network to dumb down the political system and push a personal agenda.

People on North Korea have the same relationship with Kim Jong Il. Same for past citizens of the USSR, Germany, etc. Are you Communist, Nazi, etc? No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that maybe you're too comfortable, gravitating to what you want to hear for fear that you might be wrong, might have to change the way you think, things you do, etc. or maybe you're just too intellectually lazy to care and you want to spend the rest of your life surrounded whatever makes you happy like a pig in mud. Whatever the reason, you're allowing yourself to be guided by someone else's paranoia, simply because you refuse to you your brain.

Though, because to YOU I seem a hard right conservative or some chit, I apparently only watch fox and when I do I drool all over myself because the Fox news network makes me lose all brain power and capacity to think….

What have you been watching is the bigger question…

If you really think the GOP runs the fear agenda, then this conversation is over. You are following blindly with all the other sheep.

Yea, I am a conservative, but I understand the Dem’s position and what they stand for. I also understand that not everything in the GOP side of the agenda is gravy, in fact there are a number of things/people I disagree with and when it comes down to it, I use my knowledge of the two candidate’s, NOT THE PARTIES, to make an informed decision.
