Could've been that, too, but I thought I remember some throws that were underthrown later in the game that could've gone for TDs.

Wet ball, wet turf, gimpy ankle, that's all. Flynn is not washed up and Perrilloux is not a complete quarterback yet. Having two QB's makes us deep and harder for a rival DC to prepare for. RP could take an injury himself before this season is over, you know.

I swear, some folks expect Flynn to be Joe Montana for each and every game. Even Montana had off nights in bad weather, playing with an injury.

I could not agree more. Same thing happened with JR last year. If he didn't go 20-20 with 300 yards passing and 4 TDs, people were calling for Flynn. Now, he's going through the same thing. The only thing that matters people is getting the win.

I think some folks (like me) are looking ahead and want Flynn to get healthy ASAP. And if he's not playing well, there's not a huge drop-off to RP so it seems like a win-win to let him rest his leg (and not risk further injury.)

As a point of reference, my expectations for Flynn are generally low. I don't expect him to win games, but I absolutely don't expect him to make bad decisions.

There have a few games where Flynn sails the ball high at the early part of the game. I think he is a little inaccurate at the start of the game till he settles. I think that affected him early like in other games, just anxious. But the rest of the game I think it was a combo bad ankle. Wet ball had nothing to do with because Smelley made some good passes. I think he was thinking about more about the rush a lot more than usual because of the ankle.
