I am making myself believe that this is a tough decision for him and he may stay. ;)

I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to leave Baton Rouge for any reason.

    Purple and Gold shades...

I can give you a bunch of reasons to leave BR.... But when you are adored by thousands..... I can't.

He's gone, but if he does stay. I will be glad but i won't look at him the same way. It gave me the notion that he wants to win but he isn't really a committed guy to LSU. When he came aboard, he made it sound like he had been wanting this job for a long time...ie retire as head coach of LSU.

Can you explain what Saban said that made you think he was going to stay at LSU until he retired. I have never felt that would happen.

Not a chance he stays. Jimmy Sexton and the Fins are merely dotting "i"s and crossing "t"s.

The die is cast, and the Sabans will call BR home no more.

    Just my two cents...

Not much for replying, just like to read what some knuckleheads say on the subject of Saban.
If it took LSU a few weeks to hire Mr. O'Keefe, wouldn't some of you think it has to do with professional jobs, and dealing with contract and in Saban's case, family issues also. Before you just say yes to a job you have to know all there is to know. It is a position that most everyone of us on this board and every other board, have no clue of understanding. A job of this caliber, as well as, Mr. Okeefe's position just aren't answered in a few days. The positions are totally different, however are at the tops of their professional fields. So, let time tell us all, and for all of us that get are feelings hurt, let time help us to heal.
As for the bashers on Mr Sexton, he makes more money a year than Coach Saban does. So don't think this man is in anyway responsible for Coach Saban's departure. Most sport's agents all want the money, but Sexton has his war chest full of Kings, Queens, and a lot of pawns, and "Saban ain't one to let anyone do his talking."
I hope we find out soon and while we wait, keep our heads up,"TIGERS"!!!!!
