Bama has 7 wins in the bag. LSU, Ga., Auburn, Tenn. and Clempson, I think they drop 3 for sure. So, anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3. Average that to 8-4. They could upset one of the hard teams, and drop a game they should win to one of the Miss. teams, just for some confusion. But 8-4, plus or minus 1 game.

If they go 7-5, they are over paying the coach. Heck, at 8-4, they could have got a coach to do that for half the price.

7-8 wins sounds about right for bama. I expect a loss to Clemson, Tenn, Georgia, LSU, and Auburn. I suppose an upset is possible in those games but also to be considered is the lack of depth on their team. They will probably face some attrition due to injury and if Saban is forced to plug in an abnormal amount of freshmen, they could have a long season. They just don't have an easy schedule, and added to that, expectations will begin to mount. Either from the fans or the media. Sportscenter should provide great sound bites.

Notre Dame? They just are not going to win big while Charlie is there. With the talent they pull in each year, they should have been much better last year. Isn't he supposed to be the guru of football? Charlie himself admitted to not teaching these kids very well. What's supposed to change next year? They will certainly improve but still will be far below Notre Dame standards. I would guess 4-5 losses at the least, which is an improvement to be sure, but hardly a return on the money invested in Charlie.

At least our coach got the fat contract based upon performance, at our school, and not as a result of leveraging past glory at other programs.

    He's identified the problem.

Charlie Weis addresses Notre Dame Club in Gettysburg

Charlie Weis has a plan for the University of Notre Dame football team and, according to Weis, it is only two-thirds complete.

Weis wants to assemble individuals who are good people first, studious people second and good football players third.

The first two Weis has accomplished. The last is the one he and the Fighting Irish faithful are waiting for.

"You have to establish a plan and stick to it," Weis told a crowd of Notre Dame alumni and supporters Wednesday at The Pike Restaurant in Gettysburg. "We're on the right track in those aspects."

Weis mentioned that he has had very little social problems to deal with in his three years as coach of Notre Dame.

"I could get hoodlums and thugs and win tomorrow," Weis said. "I won't do it that way."

Not sure why Cdub thinks he could win even if he had hoodlums and thugs. Afterall, he'd still be the coach.

Very true. Iowa had a good thing going until we thought we needed to get deep into the "star recruiting game"... now we've had 22 arrests in the past year, three out for rape charges, two for drugs possession and intent to sell, two for credit card theft, and six (including some of the above) for "unspecified activities" as part of their Detroit "Boyz Club".

Recruiting the thugs and hoodlums doesn't guarrantee wins.
And Charlie, recruiting altar boys doesn't either.

I live in Granger, IN and my wife works for Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame's Offense front line will improve and so is their defense with hiring of Jon Tanuta. I see Notre Dame probably lose 4 games (USC, Michigan, BC, and one to either Michigan State, Purdue, North Carolina, or Pittsburg) this year. It will probably be an 8-4 season.

I have no idea, but I believe Bama will have a better year.

Out of the big 5 mentioned, I think Bama can pull 3. UT doesn't scare me, Clemson is going to be tight, and who the hell knows what Auburn will do? I can see 10-2 as easily as I can see 7-5. Right now, Georgia is the only game I'm chalking up as a loss.

    Sounds like he's buyin time.

Hey Charlie, keep that in mind with your diet.

How many of USC's "hoodlums" had offers from him?

Sounds on the optimistic side but thanks for you input. :thumb:

I know records go out the window for games like Au/Bama but I have to believe this is Bama's year.

Did Kodi Burns come out of spring as the starter? They had a JUCO kid too.
