I agree. It will be interesting to see what E does after the season concludes. I think he's going to retire.
With covid, the depletion of players for several reasons, and bringing in a new system with no spring camp, Pelini proved himself tonight.
I don't think one strong performance in the 9th game (and we still gave up 600 yards tonight) makes up for 8 horrible ones.
Agree, surprisingly the D appears to be finding their feet. The big plays are still killing them but the 3 and outs tell a diff story. If this was mizu and moostate, Id say diff but last few games have been against statistically significant offenses.
Lots to be happy about on D tonight. A goal line stand, 2 trips inside the 10 that ended in FG's, a turnover in the red zone, pick 6 and another TO that led to a crucial 3 before the half. Not to mention several 3 and outs. But when you're talking about a 34 points, 600 yards-allowed game as a job saver? That tells you just how bad the defense has been. Then you look at personnel.....considering how bad Flott has been all year, you finally get forced to play McGlothern and he shows up like he did tonight? Why's he been on the bench all year? How is Roy not in the game more? He might not put up great numbers, but you know he's there when he's in. I'm sorry; I thought Pellini was a good hire. I was wrong. He's got to go.
Given what he's had to work with or more importantly what he hasn't had to work with I don't know of another D coordinator that could get more out of our D than Bo has.
