I even said that our win over a weak Auburn team would carry more weight if it were Bama who'd beat them- given the bitterness of that rivalry.
I'm not sure beating an Auburn team, no matter whom, is worth a damn thing right now. A loss today means Gus has lost seven of his last eight SEC games. I wont' be surprised at all if AU loses their games against A&M, UGA, and Ole Miss. How much weight will a Bama win over Auburn mean if that same Auburn team has lost 10 of their last 11 conference games? Honestly, it'll carry as much weight as a win over Vandy.
I know you say this gladly, and why. Must be great for the Auburn haters to see how far they've fallen currently. I honestly prefer having a conference that's "too tough" than one that's a cakewalk. On the other block, glad to see it looks like Tennessee is on the way back up. Georgia's an interesting one to me. Even though they haven't won shit in years, they maintain a good standing in terms of outside perception.
1. I'm not sure yet. Alabama's front 7 > Florida's front 7. Looks like they have been playing a lot of 3-4, Bama's strength is the linebackers, Ragland and Foster are 2 of the best in the conference. It's going to be interesting to see what LSU does to neutralize their strength. I would think more zone read with Harris keeping, and misdirection. I saw LSU run a counter play against WKU, and Fournette started right but cut back and take the ball left while the line was blocking everyone away to the right. It was a nice play, those are designed to work against aggressive defenses. LSU's slot receiver has an opportunity to have a big game in this one because of all the linebackers. There will be a ton of mismatches LSU will see throughout this game. This is where I wish LSU really had a great pass catching tight end. This is a spot where I would love a guy like Jacory Washington to be playing, but if Diarse can play in the slot and actually catch the football when it's thrown to him he could have a big game. Conversely, LSU needs to put a hat on OJ Howard, he could be dangerous being Beckwith doesn't cover that well. I really hope Rickey Jefferson has gotten his shit together, because he is needed.
If Georgia can somehow beat Florida and run the table, they will win the East. And if LSU runs the table, and beat Georgia, LSU will have beaten, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida, South Carolina, A&M, Auburn, and Georgia in the same season. That would be an amazing accomplishment. I gotta think LSU fans are pulling for Bulldogs today.
Spoke too soon. I guess these are those glow in the dark helmets A&M has that aren't glowing because it's a day game, lol
