I was pleased with this game plan on offense. I still think we need to throw the ball more because Harris needs the in game reps. He overthrew balls today that would have been TD's, receivers dropped balls, the passing game is still suspect, but I feel better than I did a year ago.
The two overthrows in the end zone that led to our fg and throwing Jeter into a big hit in zone coverage were Harris's errors today. Timing and anticipations from Harris and we'll be hard to beat. I'd like to see him more poised, especially on the road. The overthrows are a sign of jitters, I believe. He's young, I get it. Just wanna see him grow each week.
Tebow and McElroy talking about LSU's passing game said sometimes 20 mins will go by between passing attempts and that makes it difficult for Harris and receivers to get into a rythm and get timing down. There's truth in that. However, I'm happy with today's game plan and play calling. The RBs and OL killed it, Harris played well and got some safe high percentage pass completions but the down field passing game needs some work. Great potential though. All in all, very happy with today's game.
This was like watching the fun n gun compared to past editions. I thought the play calling was spot on. Not many 3rd and longs were there.
Fournette is a beast. On second TD he ran over and through tacklers and then juked the last guy with a Barry Sanders type move.
That's what I was thinking, I mean he has a point with the PA thing, it will be there for the taking if we ever take it but I have no real complaints here. I'm sure they were trying to get off the field as quick as possible and I don't blame them. I'm shocked they threw it as much as they did.
