Just like Kanasas St. used (and still) does. That has always been the biggest criticism that the Wildcats have faced the last few years.

This is VA Tech's schedule for this year. How in the world does it rank better than LSU's?? James Madison, for Christs sakes??? UConn? UCF? I'm sorry, there is no way this schedule is tougher than LSU's, even with less than stellar OOC opponents.

    8/30 UCF W 49-28
    9/6 James Madison W 43-0
    9/18 Texas A&M W 35-19
    9/27 UConn W 47-13
    10/4 at Rutgers W 48-22
    10/11 Syracuse W 51-7
    10/22 at West Va L 28-7
    11/1 Miami W 31-7
    11/8 at Pittsburgh
    11/15 at Temple
    11/22 Boston Coll
    11/29 at Virginia

And you don't think a playoff in D1A wouldn't generated even more money than the way its set up now?

Do you mean its too much for the D1A "student athletes" but its OK for the D1AA, D2 and D3 "student athletes" that already have a 16 team playoff? Why? Are the D1A "student athletes" more delicate than the "student athletes" in the lower divisions? Lets see if you keep singing that tune if LSU finishes #2 in the polls and #3 or #4 in the BCS rankings and gets screwed while Miami or USC plays Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. If all of the one loss teams win out (it won't happen, somebody will lose a game and I hope its not LSU) how can it be fair to let a bunch of computers that are programed by imperfect humans decide which one is deserving to play for the NC while the others are relegated to lesser bowls?

Just how in the hell can you fault LSU for its OOC schedule when teams keep backing out of games? Is it LSU's fault that Arizona's program deteriorated from top 10 status at the time they were scheduled to the dregs of college football that they are now. At least Arizona didn't back out of the game like Bowling Green, Marshall, BYU and Virginia Tech.

I didn't blame anyone in my post ... but that doesn't change the fact that our OOC schedule sucked this year and is a major reason why we aren't ranked higher in the polls.

For a lead-in to an eventual ovehaul of a playoff system, I would like to see a 3 game playoff using the top 4 in the BCS standings. This gives you the 1v4 and 2v3 with the winners meeting in the NC game. You can use 3 of the BCS bowl games to do it, and give the Rose back to the weakass Pac-10 and Big-10.
