It's one thing to complain about the AD from time to time, quite another to suggest he leave. Overall, Skip has done a nice job of managing the LSU ship of state. Can't think offhand of anyone else I'd rather have doing the job as he strikes a nice balance between making cold, calculated business decisions and being an "LSU man" and not merely looking at this as a job, divorced somewhat from the pride and passion fans, players and coaches have for the place.
If Skip lets the SEC get away with sending a 10-2 SEC runner-up to the Independence Bowl and 7-4 Carolina to the Outback, then I have a small problem. Otherwise he is doing fine.
Don't know how much control he has over those reps from said bowls..But if 10-2 LSU was offered IB and 7-4 was offered the Outback, I would hope he told them where they could put their money......TOOK A STAND.............A million dollars is small time to LSU. I would tell them that our pride prevents this. I would contribute to a fund to make up for lost revenue. (UNLESS THE PLAYERS VOTED TO GO)
Fixed. Our bowl money is ours. We share any BCS monies that we get.... and it isn't equal. The actual winner of a BCS bowl gets the majority of the share.
True, but we could refuse an invitation to Shreveport ... which was Col Reb's point. I'd be willing to go that route if they stick us there and the players agreed with it...
What amount do the Vandy's, Kentucky's, Tennessee's lol: ) et al... get. When did they change the policy? i heard that we got an initial amount up front and a portion was sent to the SEC to be mixed and distributed.
Don't believe that is true. All bowl money is shared in the conference. The formula for sharing is a bit complicated, but all non-BCS bowl money is included.
