I can only hope that the Georgia coaches and team are as misinformed as Chip is about LSU. Mauck can't run or throw. LSU has no running game. LSU can't kick field goals. LSU defense can't stop Georgia. Statistics mean nothing. Keep repeating it and you begin to believe it. We heard a lot of this kind of talk from Florida last year, too. Can you spell "overconfident"?
red 55... I'm going to make a simple check list and stat sheet and take it to the game with me..... I'll start with: W - L UGA LSU Then, the points: _____ _____ Then rushing yards: _____ _____ Then passing yards: _____ _____ etc....etc....etc.... We shall see......
Finally! I though I might make it through the whole day without seeing a jab at Auburn or Tubby. You make me proud, SL. :geaux:
Chip82 we're glad you're here on the board and we appreciate the comments but what's up with the Braves baseball cap? It seems you have your sports mixed up. Are you going to bring a football bat to the game?
Just picked up my first round playoff tickets for Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st, so I'm between two sports seasons. And wearing a Braves Cap around town is just an Atlanta thing anyway. This year makes it Twelve MLB Division Championships in a row..!! I typically go over to Turner Field to watch the Braves about once or twice a week. Turner Field is an excellent sports venue. Tigah Fan, being from Dahlonega, you probably know first hand. Now its a matter of who the Braves will play... Astros - Cubs - Cardinals ??? Come to think of it, I would imagine that some of you folks might be Houston fans. Jimmy Williams has done a pretty good job with them so far. By the way, Trey Hodges, a Braves middle relief pitcher, used to play for LSU.
Just giving you a hard time about the baseball cap on a football board. I know all about how much you guys love the Braves. I lived in GA for the last three years before the military moved me. I attended numerous Braves games and they are my favorite NL team. My favorite overall team is the NY Yankees, I became an NY fan when Ron Guidry "Louisiana Lightning" was their ace pitcher. Back to the football game though, it should be a great game. Both our fans and your fans are passionate about their teams. I bleed purple and gold but I'm a realist and I think it will come down to which team makes the fewest mistakes. Neither team is short on talent and both teams have a lack of experience in key areas: The bulldogs on the O-line and LSU in the linebacking corps. We could debate this all week but Saturday we will find out how good our teams are. GEAUX TIGERS!!!
I'm not really a Braves hater. I don't understand the love that ESPN and Fox suddenly have for them since they're on the tube just about any night on TBS anyway. I was at the game where the Braves began their run. It was 1993 or 94. The press box caught fire that night. The Braves were like 10 games back of the Giants and they traded for the Crime Dog. The night of the fire was McGriff's 1st game. They won that night and never looked back.
Mauck always made good decisions. Last year before he got hurt his TD to INT ratio was like 7:2, he just didn't have the accracy that he has now but even then he didn't make stupid throws they were safe where only his player could catch it
