.. Bama and LSU both had a week off before the game and it was 9-6 OT Expect much of the same. There really is no reason nor justification to think any different. Passing wont be easy Running wont be easy Its just a reality... In any event. I am 100% certain Bama wont fall an increase in option plays. Like I said before, they work best as of off balance to out power run game. Late in the game when the D starts to break down you will see nice gains, but even then, we are splitting hairs between a loss of 5 yards or a gain of 15.... ITS THAT CLOSE with Bama. LSU still needs to figure out to cover TR this time as well....
I think we'll see 7-10 scripted plays of triple option football on the 9th. If it moves the chains we may see more. A defense would have to contend with Hilliard or Ware on the dive and with Blue or Ford as the trailing back. JJ has also shown he is a threat on the keeper. To top it off there is no telling what kind of additional wrinkle Miles and crew will add to complicate it. Thinking about all that could make Saban's head explode.
The funny thing is that I think the Media concensus is that Bama outplayed LSU in game 1 and we will actually be the media underdogs. I really believe we will be hearing a lot more from the media (ala ESPN) of why and how Bama is going to win this rematch and how Bama gave away the first game etc... vs why LSU should win. Very interesting that I still think the media has LSU as an undeserving #1 in comparison to Bama, "who gave away the game." I certainly think LSU wins and does so with how they played the first one: tough and sound in all 3 aspects of the game. Bama was -17 yds when inside the 30. Will be a tough game, but I think LSU played a poor game and Bama played as well as they could. I think more offense from both teams and a 27-24 LSU win.
Supa never was one to be a giant football brain on this board ... but he's right on here ... You'd have to be nuts to think Les/Krags won't tinker with the triple option and put an LSU spin on it ... I'd love to see the Triple Option mixed with Hilliard doing quick dive plays ... IN THE F-ING HURRY UP OFFENSE ... Then hit Reuben or Odell or Deangelo when the safeties come up biting to stop the run ... ITS ALL GONNA BOIL DOWN TO SMART CALLS ON 1ST DOWN AND GOOD EXECUTION. Saban won't know whether to **** or geaux blind when those chains and those chain crews keep dancing back toward the red zone. TRUTH BEFORE GOD ALMIGHTY When it comes right down to it ... LSU is a stronger quicker (albeit lighter) team ... and we should play to our strengths ... We have already proven in Tuscaloosa that we can line up on this Bama team and hit 'em in the mouth and whip them for 60 minutes in the trenches and come out of the bowels of hell with VICTORY ... Now it's time to show America that we can beat their arses with blazing speed & execution and leave them in the Superdome carpet crumbs wondering WTF happened
I'm with ya, TM7 will make sure we win this game. I believe he'll make what ever play is neccessary to win.
The defense will have to play lights out. They have done so , especially in the second half, all year. On offense we need to run them sideline to sideline. Keep putting in fresh backs. Make them work hard to seal the edge. They won't be able to blitz if they are too busy using their defensive backs to help their exausted linebacker out. That's when we can burn them with the long ball. By the end of last game, ford was beating them to the edge, turning the corner and getting big yards. I think we couldve scored a td in overtime if we had to. The strength of bama is their ability to stop the inside run. Make their oversized linebackers run their arse off all game and by the fourth qtr we will be chewing up the yardage.
To be fair, I was obviously being a little hyperbolic. However, he was essentially a non-factor in that game. If he creates a turnover or brings a punt back, we would have won easily in regulation. But he was still on the heels of his suspension, and in sort of a "slump" by his standards. If he does his thing and stays true to form in the NCG, bama has no chance of keeping it as close as it was last time. The way that our entire team responds to the momentum shift when he pulls of some crazy sh!t is phenomenal.
If either team was unhealthy and played poorly in game one if was LSU. I'd take our failed attempts to score inside the 5 over their failed attempts to reach the red zone any day. I think we fix that. I think we reach the endzone in the super dome and I honestly think we see the same Alabama performance. Even if they make 4 field goals this time, it won't matter, because 12 points won't be enough to win I honestly feel that Bama has more work to do than LSU does in improving their chances to win. Our strengths have been imposing our will in the 2nd half and pounding teams into submission, which was starting to happen against Bama late in the game and OT. If we bring a full 4 quarters of a solid, fresh, healthy, well rested rushing attack, Bama is in big trouble Another thing, if Richardson goes down to an injury early, Bama is PHUCKED! LSU will win! --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=29.810054,-95.544826
What I've noticed about TM7 .. is he seems to have stopped being so mouthy ...putting on the show ... and instead is letting his play do the mouthing for him. He could very well be the difference. In fact, he could very well be the whole game for LSU. LSU wins 7-6 ... on a punt return by TM7. LOL
