Running is what we do best, so I agree with the other posters who have also stated this, and thus we shouldn't change what has been working. The thing is, we've had some success throwing, and I would think that we can find a way to be successful throwing on Jan. 9th. There has to be some weakness we can exploit.

Hilliard will wear them down. They were wore down last game because Moffitt's program is better. Their LB's are not made to handle the option. We now have Ga. Southern game tape too...

We saw what Les and staff could do with two weeks, now it's a month and in our Dome!:thumb:

This is pretty easy. The only big game Alabama played all year was against us. We had many big games this year. Their team played tight and our team played loose.
Our keys to beating Bama are shutting down the running game and making them one dimensional. Special teams will probably be the difference again because I suspect both defenses will at least slow down the offenses. I don't believe McCarron can have a good game against us in the BCS CG.
He doesn't have the experience, probably the biggest game of his life.

I think what you saw in the Georgia game is that our offense didn't show up for the first half. Its like they were looking ahead to the BCSCG. I don't think
you have to worry about this, I've never seen a CLM's team not show up for a bowl game. I suspect this team will be better and perform better on that stage than Bama, we will play like we always have in these games under CLM's.
Bama is going to have to find a new kicker to score points, that is the bottom line. No one has scored inside the red zone on us for most of the year.
Oh and I expect to see the wishbone for a few plays!:miles::grin:

It would be nice to score 21 like Georgia Southern. I know our athletes should be able to copy what they did.

I agree about McCarron, but we will need someone on his outlet TR on the wheel route. He was open all nite last time.

That is one thing that bothers me, blown assignments just like against Georgia.
A lot of them haven't cost us yet BUT I bet the coaches will be ready and we won't make the same mistakes next time. Oh and we should dink and dunk, throw short passes at times to our backs as well as TE's and WR's.

    Offensively:

1.)Jefferson needs to perform like he has done in other bowl games and NOT like he did week-to-week last season and what he did yesterday vs UGA.

For all his criticisms (from myself included) over the seasons, if there's one thing JJ has done well with is his play following extended preperation.

We don't need 250+ passing yards (and if THAT's what we DO need in this game to win, it'll be because we are playing from behind), but we DO NEED to be more accurate when we do throw.

We need JJ to give us a solid 150 thru the air and more importantly, no drive-killing INT's (i.e. vs Arkansas).

2.) Our O-line can't take an entire half of football to start controlling the LOS. I don't believe Bama's D-Line is AS big as UGA's, but we can't have the entire line stagnant or cave in.

3.) Start Ware/Hilliard tandem pounding early and hit them with Ford/JJ option reads once you see how Bama starting defending the running game.

4.) Get their LB's running early. We haven't used it alot lately (and that's night a bad thing), but this might be a good game to use more screen plays?

    Defensively:

    1.) Gang tackle!

They did a really good job (great actually) of containing Richardson the first time and while holding him to 100 yards or less doesn't guarantee victory, it gives you a much better chance.

2.) Defend the TE better. Bama had a lot of success getting the ball to their TE's (and RB's) on wheel routes.

3.) Shore up communication in coverage!

We had a LOT of "busted coverage" vs UGA. Some went for big gains but we also got EXTREMELY lucky that others were flat out dropped. We can't have that again. (although, I might be inclined to say that in terms of QB/WR's, UGA might have the edge over Bama but what the Tide did/will likely do that UGA did not is use their TE's and RB's as safety valves/dumps--especially in the face of a blitz. LB's had better know their assignments and WRAP UP in space!

This game won't be much like the first. Look for the TD's. LSU with over a month.........gonna be a good one....LSU ROLLS......

Remember Pro teams play the same team twice in the same season. Gonna be nice to beat bama twice in the same season. Three in a row.

We win by playing LSU football for 60 minutes with thousands of tigers fan at the dome and the rest of the nation at home screaming like madmen their contempt for Bama.

We are going to stop their run, intercept their passes and run down their throats. And then the Honey Badger will take what he wants. We will have Saban blow a vein in his skull while Les plays zen mind games with him. I can't wait. Bring it.

Hold Richardson to under 100 again and get two TO's.
    We win!
