I think all LSU's offence has ever needed was an average guy uptop coordinating the offence, which we haven;t had since Jimbo, i think we now have an elite coordinator and our offensive woes will be a thing of the past.
What I've seen is years of hype in the spring followed by disappointment and ineffectiveness in the fall. But I'm cautiously optimistic.
Of all the years I've followed LSU, I've never seen an OC like him at LSU. Oh, we've had a few good ones, none with the resume that Cam has. Talking with a college coach the other night, he attended a clinic that Cam was a part of, I like what he had to say about it. I've got word on how the practice has been run, what being done and why. Cam's track record is a good read. Like I've said, we've had a good share of OC's, Jimbo, Morris Watts, Ed Zaunbrecher and a few more. Mack Brown was here for one year and called plays, he was listed as the QB's coach, the OC at that time was George Belu. On paper and what I know, this is a great hire. I'm not the only one saying this, people outside of LSU are saying the same thing. I remember when Chief was hired, there was a ton of caution, I didn't see it the same way, same with this hire. We lost 3 games by a total of 13 pts. last year, as bad as people said this offense was, we were there. I see too much of what Cam can do with this offense. The best part, I see the players that can be used in his offensive scheme. Too many options. A former LSU Assistant coach that was the OC for Cam, the only Former LSU Head Football Coach thats never lost a game at LSU...Hal Hunter, yep, Hal was Cams OC at Indiana. To add: Hal coached Alan Faneca and Todd McClure at LSU.
Yes same as every 5 star recruit. Or any qb recruit of past five years. At least until the first snap.
