What's your prediction for Cali QB Dayne Crist? Will he be throwing for the Tigers in a few years or will he follow Ron Pawlus and donut boy to the land of golden domes?

I thought UCLA and USC were heavily recruiting him.

Offers so far from LSU, nd, Minnesota and Duke. He's hearing from Pac-10 schools but not heavily. That may change depending on what SC hears from Mustain next month and after he camps at SC and Stanford. He's attended camp at utla but the irish have been riding his jock since he was a sophomore plus he's friends with Emu clausen.

I'd love to see Miles get this kid and give charlie a big spanking.

Well if he's good, I'd love to see him in purple and gold. Though I find it unlikely for a Cal boy to play for LSU. But I think we're in safe hands the next four-five years. We got one year for Flynn, two years for Perrilloux (The Heisman winner:grin: :thumb: ) and two years for Jarrett Lee (The kid is incredibly accurate and has a strong arm). LSU is officially QB U (considering Russell will be the league's MVP in 2-3 years):hihi:

Might be a long shot but we do have 5 Cali girls who play on our softball team, so you never know. :thumb:

Scout currently has him listed as the #1 QB in the 2008 class so I'm guessing he's pretty decent. Don't count out a Cali boy just yet. Looks like your next QB target is much further down the list and if Miles called Crist, he must see something he likes.

Officially QB U? Not so fast. Perhaps the names Palmer and Leinart ring a bell? Heisman Trophy winners, both. JD Booty is the number 3 likely winner of the Heisman in early polls for next season. We got Sanchez, Corps, and perhaps Mustain waiting in the wings. I'm not saying SC is QB U but I'm not relenquishing the title just yet. :hihi:

Well, I have to agree. But you got to admit that we got ROBBED this year. Russell is clearly better than Troy Smith and Quinn. And dont bet on Booty, there's a legend in the making called Darren McFadden that ran all over the SEC defenses. He's big, strong, fast and has a vision like no one else...Not to mention he finished up second in voting as a SOPHOMORE!!!

That's putting me in a tough spot cause then I'd have to discuss whether or not VY got robbed the year before. I guess it's not so much who is "better" but who had the Heisman year and the team you play for does play a factor. aOSU was undefeated going into the NC game and that's what voters (and the media) had in mind. McFadden and Quinn were so far behind in the voting it's a wonder they were even invited to NY.

Hey, it's not like there isn't a precedence. 1967 saw the only utla player to ever win the Heisman and most consider him to be the worst selection ever made. IMO if it had gone to the better player, then Archie Griffin wouldn't have been the first 2 time winner.

I fully expect that barring injury or some other freak of nature, Run DMC is the most likely winner of the Heisman. I'm not betting on Booty (hell, I'll be overjoyed if he just has a good year) just pointing out that another SC QB is at least in the hunt.

You still gonna' invite me to your tailgate Hurricane? :hihi:

Now with Crowton as the OC that could change, he has ties in Cali and other Pac10 areas, TX, and LA. Bit I do agree we are set for awhile and he is not a strong need at this time.:thumb:
