Like the Aggie drug addicts who were sharing the same syringe to shoot up drugs. They thought it was OK because they were all wearing condoms

finger condoms or the extra large ribbed Trojan? I think the situation is important in determining the correct choice. And was he wearing it inside out?

The local news at 9 is fun in DFW tonight. The new "possible victim" has a son at The Colony High School, which is one community further west than Frisco, where his dad decided to go and possibly contaminate the Care Now clinic. Folks are not too happy.

"The price of caring for Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan likely ran into hundreds of thousands of dollars, medical experts said Wednesday."

“A hospital needs a certain amount of uncompensated care to qualify for their tax breaks, but ultimately this cost is covered by the margin on commercial insurance,” said Scott Schoenvogel, CEO of Compass Professional Health Services in Dallas.

Dallas hospitals recover those losses by a practice known as “cost shifting.” Insured patients have a hidden surcharge in their bills, which winds up raising the cost of annual health insurance premiums for workers and their employers."

Man, we could really use some health care reform in light of this life taking, financially crippling disease.

Care Now has to shut down until they can get a pre-emptive decontamination and wait word on the test results. If he stopped at Starbucks on the way, he could have shut down the entire west side of Frisco.

This is all so half-assed, though. The Care Now is shut down at least until Friday morning for decontamination; however, the CDC allowed them to re-open yesterday afternoon until closing time (I'm willing to bet nary a soul walked through the doors, though; I mean, there are plenty of Care Now facilities beside Ebola Ground Zero in West Frisco.)

Another half-assed thing is that this deputy, along with Health Department Director Zachary Thompson and Judge Clay Jenkins, were in the apartment with no protective gear last Wednesday. They assured everyone that it was perfectly safe, though the apartment was, in fact, absolutely filthy.

However, as soon as the deputy and his co-workers returned to their station, their cars went into quarantine, they were told to bag up their clothes, and were put on leave to see if symptoms popped up. When they did pop up, the deputy thought it was prudent to go to Care Now, instead of calling 911? Wtf?

At 10 p.m. last night, Zachary Thompson was on the news declaring the officer "almost certainly" doesn't have ebola, even though the blood tests won't be back until tomorrow. He did say there were other preliminary tests that could rule out ebola that had already been performed and that the results would be back within the hour.

As of this morning, there were no reports on the news that those tests showed the officer doesn't have ebola.

This is a clusterf**k of the highest order.

Yes, and Ebola is only transmitted through contact with body fluids yet they shut down the entire wing of the hospital Duncan was in.

That is what we get from elected officials who lie for a living to get elected and public safety officials who lie to us to keep the public calm. These spokespeople contradict themselves at almost every turn and that is just feeding public apprehension.

How about a little truth.....There is no need for public concern but we are treating this like a highly infectious uncontrollable disease.

I wouldn't be so sure about that - this outbreak has now been through many more hosts than previous outbreaks and viruses evolve. There are some ebola scientists that are alarmed as well:

This is where all of the contradictions start. We seem to be sure about transmission, but if that deputy indeed has ebola, he didn't go lick the carpet or the couch in the living room where he was standing, did he?

Yes. I was trying to give another example of how the official word does not match the official actions. I think that as they are trying to control the message that there is nothing to be afraid of here, they are scared shitless they could be wrong. To the point that there are extreme measures being taken for something they say is no big deal at all.
