It doesn't really matter, just a matter of definition. I don't really think they are scared though. Scared people avoid violence. Isis is on fire. They claimed the two bombings in southern Beirut (only days after I drove by the neighborhood in an uber to the airport), and now the worst killing in Europe in forever. And of course the Russian plane. They are on a roll. I am not as angry as most of you at Obama, but I definitely agree this should make Obama stop being so damned eager to import refugees. There is just no way to tell who these Dune coons are. Credit to Bengal b for introducing me to the term dune coons.
Only days after the latest Beirut bombings and weeks after the Russian plane. Was a bad time to claim Isis is on the downswing. The killing of jihadi John is great but meaningless.
Not yet but they will be once the Syrian "refugees" that Obamahammed has welcomed into Louisiana and soon more in the rest of the USA start shooting up malls, concerts, sports events and government buildings.
ISIS-inspired copycats abroad are on the upswing just like Al Qadea copycats once were. But ISIS itself on the ground in Syria and Iraq has lost significant territory, major leaders, vital supply highways, and major cities to the US-backed Kurds in recent weeks. Airstrikes are up and we now have Spec OPs calling them in. ISIS is "swinging down" seriously on the battlefield.
I am fairly certain that every medal of honor winner, wanted to be any place other than he was, when the shit hit the fan. They were most assuredly scared but thier curage and commitment made them stay and fight. Walking into a mall and shooting unarmed women and children doesn't take courage.
Again, it's just a matter of how you define courage/cowardice. Lets say you have two terrorists, Ahmed and Mohammed. When the boss calls and says he has a suicide mission, Ahmed pretends he isn't home, lets it go to voicemail, hides in closet. Muhammed is right on it, he is yelling Allah ackbar and out the door zipping up the suicide vest. Which is more brave?
I agree Obama wasn't referring to this type of attack, but it is bad visuals for the President. However, this does represent that ISIS has been underestimated again. Lot of experts are saying this took more ability than we thought ISIS had. Someone needs to think about what we think they "can't do" next time; and start planning on preventing it. Or we'll be surprised again.
