FYI the Pitt game is friday afternoon, don't forget! one of my favorite player mwani Wilkinson is playing awesome at ark little rock. 17 ppg and 7 rebounds on 50 percent shooting from tripletown. good for him. always played hard, great athlete. not a good ball handler.
well the game vs UCF was a masterpiece! beautful comeback, triple OT. Corey chest is really showing himself to be an NBA level athlete and defender. the whole team really plays good hard defense. sometimes they simply wont let the other team penetrate. they stonewall the opposing guards on drives. its great. they have a few players that are very limited on offense, or inconsistent. like fountain doesnt always finish, reed can get out of control, bailey is an awful shooter, as is chest. so when the scorers are not hot, it can lead to a terrible scoring drought. but they play great defense, so hopefully they wont get too far behaind during those times. vyctorious miller is really showing himself to be a great scorer. when he comes in he really brings excitement. probably a liability on defense but i am not sure. he can shoot and drive and move with the ball and create. on the offensive end, he can do it all. his late dunk in the UCF game was huge. that was a brilliant play. on that posession, they were comingn off a timeone, and i saw they were trying to run a pick and roll for reed moving down the lane. but it got shut down and MM called timeout immediately and installed a new play, which was a pick for V miller where he was sent down the lane without the ball for a bailey bouncce pass. it was perfect. he finished with a massive jam and it really put the nail in the coffin. if Carter and sears and making shots, LSU is very dangerous. if they are not, they can be in big trouble quick.
That was a strange tournament, at least the arena. Seating for - what - 200 people? The ball hitting the rims sounded very weird too. Great come from behind win, wish we could have gotten two W's. Anyway, Chris Cenac commits today at 4:30. He's got 7 schools, and I read that when he did his last official to LSU all 3 signees for this class were there for one more push.
looks like Collins is out for a month or maybe the season with a shoulder. sucks, he was really becoming a shot blocking enthusiast. Rob Miller needs to get to playing harder and better and hitting shots. and Corey chest needs to be prepared for big minutes
Coach says Collins will not need surgery for his dislocated shoulder. they just popped it back in and he needs to strengthen it a bit and be back in business. no ETA but seems like he will return at some point hopefully fairly soon
have to hand it to the staff so far, for how the early season had played out, far exceeded my expectations for cohesion, etc…. kudos to cmm v miller is going to be the glue I think sucks about cenac but I think I saw elsewhere that Houston’s nil pkg was pretty impressive, still close to home, proven program with Sampson, etc…. eta: Martin doing God’s work keeping this thread alive. tyfys
the SEC is by far the best conference. they are clobbering the ACC in the SEC ACC challenge. I mean destroying. I think the SEC is 11-1 so far with a few games going now
