Bama only played 3 real teams that year and lost to 2 of them.

Won? Saying "played for" would've been a stretch, but to say "won" is just a joke.

Personally, I don't see why the game with Bama was even close. We should've beat you by more.

Bama was not a great 10 win team. They were a team that was good, and managed to win 10 games because of a fairly weak schedule.

I don't agree with that, but I do remember how good of a game it was when LSU was in T-town. OT games are fun, but losing them hurts just a bit worse, don't you think?

'05 won because of one hell of a defense. I'll say that Middle TN St. and Utah St. were weak, but the rest of the schedule was not a lot different than what LSU faced.

BS. You losing Closner was bigger.

Prothro is one of the over hyped guys.

Also, you were better in 2002. The 2005 team was not great.

Closner is the one I'd call over hyped. I didn't see but a small handful of DB's that could cover Pro when he cut.

It didn't help that the backup (to Closner) was former DL, and not real good there.

He does have one good point here. With Pro in the game, the defenses we faced weren't allow to just pin the ole' ears back and come...

you kind of covered my point. the gap between his backup was huge.

prothro would not have had a chance to get the ball later on in the year anyways, for it was inevitable that brodie was going to be a 3 step drop and fetal position every play.

prothro is good, but was basically a poor mans skyler green. he didnt have sharp moves when cutting with the ball. i think some of the new recruits will remind you of how bad the talent has fallen with probation.

I agree about the OT games. Not trying to bash Bama but what quality teams do you see on Bama's '05 schedule? I see Auburn, Florida and LSU with the only win coming over Florida at home. And even then both AU and Florida had 3 losses each. Bama had as soft a schedule as I've ever seen in the SEC, it wasn't their fault Tennessee only won 5 games that season and South Carolina sucked, but thoase are the facts.

I had to think about that...played 4 ranked teams, lost to one, LSU. (I can't remember whether it was end of the season rankings, or where they were ranked at the time...just forgot...that comes from stats compiled covering '05)

Because of some decisions Shula made prior to the Auburn game, Auburn just jumped all over Bama in the first part of that game. The team wasn't prepared in many ways.
