That is the damn problem. I haven't gotten any either.

Tell you what, check out Pell Grants. That is money for nothing. But neither my daughters nor I qualify. Better than being a rock star!

Welcome to Liberal America--gay marriage,2 term black President, weed, focus on climate change.....the list goes on. This is the new United States of America & the Republicans will have to adapt.

There has been a shift in the country. Demographically we are more diverse than ever before and it is a trend that is unlikely to reverse. Hispanics are altering the landscape and because Republicans have virtually gone out of their way to alienate Hispanics other than a token candidate now and then, they are now suffering the consequences. IF! the Republicans do not alter their platform to be more inclusive of minorities and they do not get rid of some of the dogmatic social ideals, they will never win another national election again. The country simply isn't going to elect a President who doesn't support women's rights and who doesn't recognize that they can no longer ignore the voice of minority voters. Further, the country is no longer fooled by supply-side economics. Think about this: a majority of the country voted for the guy who was promising to raise taxes, not the guy who was promising to cut them.

Great post, I had the same conversation earlier this morning. I don't think the country has shifted so much...I mean right is right and wrong is wrong, but the Republican Party has basically blown itself up. They simple have to get over a lot of stuff (anti-science, anti-immigration, anti-women's rights, anti-taxes) and focus on economy and foreign policy. It is the peripheral, litmus test issues, all self imposed, that have destroyed them. And you are absolutely correct, they will NEVER EVER win at the national level without changes. Ever.

A majority of the country did NOT vote for the guy. Exactly 50% did vote for him. That is not a majority of the country. 49% voted for Romney and 1% voted for other. That said, they were not voting for the guy that would raise their taxes, they were voting for the guy that would raise someone else's taxes.

I love talking points 101. I only heard that all repeated 100 times in the last 12 hrs but it's clearly true. old whitey had his last chance. In 4 yrs their position surely won't have improved unless they sucker in the hard working religious cholos/hispandex. Young people embrace diversity even to a fault. Old crusty whitey, not so much.

Mike Hucabee has a really good point.
probably 50% of blacks are conservative in many ways and non-cuban hispanics are somewhat conservative on many issues.
gotta reach out to these people and stop shunning them.
