Florida brings back a weaker defense from an 8-5 team. True freshmen having to play at linebacker positions. At least polls won't determine the SEC Championship. But beyond that, who knows?
yes but with a much better coach and a team which kicks your ass regularly with or without. you prolly get to enjoy 2nd in the east again either way.

Florida has more living alumni, a larger state population, Urban Meyer is a national name, and SI needs to seel some magazines. They're the obvious MARKETING pick. And this was pretty much the last straw for me, so they lose a thrity year subscriber.
i disagree. urban was the hottest name for available coaches last year and is respected nationally yet people here pretend Les was as much of a national pick. he was not. an excellent coach going to the hottest talent-bed in the country is an actual headline for years to come.

Can't buy that simply because Florida has a history of "hot coaches" and underachieved. Doug Dickey left Tennessee for Gainesville, Charlie Pell left Clemson, and Galen Hall turned down Ohio State to remain in Gainesville. Urban Meyer was a name simply because it was assumed he was going to Notre Dame. When he took the Florida job, it was huge because Florida scooped Notre Dame before they fired Willingham. Meyer glittered because he was sprayed with the Golden Domer's stuff. Meyer walked into a loaded set up at Utah. Now he has to coach some because Florida hasn't pulled in the material on the defensive side of the ball recently. Meyer, unlike Miles, hasn't stayed at one place long enough to establish a direction of a program.
thats a load of crap. urban meyer was a name long before the ND offer. it was why he was offered in the first place. not sure how you weren't aware of that. meyer was and is the biggest new hire of the year. you dont have to believe it but its the way it is. this bash urban and UF campaign is rather funny but it wont change anything. the dude is an excellent coach whether the LSU faithful believe it or not. will he walk on water anytime soon in gainesville? prolly not but in due time.
I'm gonna have to side with Tirk here. Why must we bash any team that's seems to get more media coverage than LSU? I just don't understand it.
