Why does everyone hate on Vandy. They are the school that lifts us out of the gutter when it comes to academics... They have a good basketball team, decent baseball, and improved alot this year in football. Give the smart kids a break.
I would have to say that USM would be the #1 choice. I would also like to see either Memphis or GTech
I heard the coach guy that calls into Songy's show talk about this at the beginning of the season. He said that the NCAA is looking at making many conference moves over the next 6-10 years. The only ones I remember him saying were, Ark to Big 12, Colorado to Pac 10, Florida State to the SEC East, and an Sec East team to the west. He said it wasnt in stone yet but they are persuing it.
I would rather see florida state over memphis and southern miss. I think FSU would be a good fit in our conference perhaps a good replacement for Ark in the West. Tallahassee is a little over 6 hours from Baton Rouge which is about the same distance as oxford, t-town, and auburn.
FSU or GTech will not leave the new and improved ACC any time soon... i like our conference. The only teams iwould think about drop/adding (and not even seriously thinking just speculating) would be Kentucky (Memphis) and Ark (Southern Miss), but actually im happy with our conference.
I don't want 3 Alabama or 3 Missippi teams. It's a shame that ULL or La Tech isn't good enough, I'd love to have another Louisiana team.
Tech and Tulane were in the SEC. They both left around the same time because of the formation of the Saints and Falcons.
