Hillary's Daddy might not have been in the Donald Trump class as far as his wealth but he did alright for himself. Probably enough to make Hillary a trust fund baby.

After the war, he began what was to prove to be a very successful career in the textile supply industry, starting with Rodrik Fabrics, a drapery fabric business located in Chicago's famous Merchandise Mart building.[3] His company made drapes andwindow shades; his customers included offices, hotels, airlines, and theaters.[5] He later opened a fabric print plant building on the North Side.[3] Rodham tried politics once, running for Chicago alderman as an independent in 1947; he lost badly to the Richard J. Daley political machine with which he was hoping to ingratiate himself.[5]
The Rodhams had three children: Hillary (born 1947), Hugh (born 1950), and Tony (born 1954). In 1950, they moved to the more affluent Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois.[3] The family still maintained ties to Scranton; all three children were christened there, and they spent summers at a cottage overlooking Lake Winola, located in Overfield Township in the nearby Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains,[3][6] that he and his father had built themselves in 1921.[7]
Rodham was a staunch supporter of Barry Goldwater’s 1964 presidential campaign and remained a committed Republicanuntil his death. Even after his daughter married Democrat Bill Clinton, he (according to Bill Clinton) "never gave up hope that his son-in-law would join him in the Republican Party and support a cut in the capital gains tax."[8] In late 1992, following Bill Clinton's election as president, Rodham made a cameo appearance on the television comedy Hearts Afire, whose producers were friends of the Clintons.[9]

Whenever I see completely unrealistic arguments, I know where I stand. The view is damn fine.

The amount of time they were in debt based on the amount, is nowhere near what middle class Americans experience. They didn't get reported to credit agencies, their ability to borrow in the future was not impacted, they borrowed millions of dollars while claiming they were broke, and for plenty of middle class folks, they work their asses off and still can't get out of debt or send their children to very expensive private universities.

Who said it was insidious? Darth Sidious maybe but I said Scooby doo van....

Here's why I mention it. The real Hillary to me and I think lots of other folks, "comes across as stiff, defensive and someone who parses her words to skate around the truth.....after a lifetime in public life, we have a sense that Clinton is a smart, tough and shrewd politician". Based on the Midwestern van tour, Hillary suffers from a lack of authenticity. She's trying to be something she's not. It would serve her far better to own her authentic self and let the chips fall. People know when they see bullshit.

Go for it but be prepared to be identified as introducing an argument that is a red herring. This entire thread is about Hillary, the current stream of thought is about Hillary, Hillary is running for POTUS. Romney? He's as poignant to this discussion as James Garfield.

An overt evasion of the question.

Same argument. One more time . . . people can get out of debt. It doesn't mean that they were never in debt. She didn't lie. I have been in debt and worked my way out of it. People can relate.

Exactly. She's a lot like most politicians. I want a tough, smart, and shrewd politician in the White House.

Clearly you don't like it when someone points out that other politicians try to relate to the people. It's such a molehill.

Or as relevant as Garfield the Cat for that matter. I think Hillary is smart enough to know better than to "just be herself.". She is already unlikable enough in the personas she tries to assume. Have you heard her fake Souther accent?

No. It didn't deserve an answer.

Middle class America is not capable of removing millions in debt in 4 years or borrowing millions when they are self-proclaimed "dead broke. Middle America does not relate to Hillary and Bill.

    Hope and change, right?

As you like to say, don't tell me what I like or don't like. I said go for it. Finally, Romney was a hot mess when he tried to do it and Hillary is equally, if not more so, unsuccessful. Most politicians use this approach but as I've said, she stands out as a major bullshitter in the category. Romney was unsuccessful. He's not running. Hillary is. Is there any candidate, from any party, you would vote for other than Hillary?

This is it in a nutshell.

No one other than Red is going to go through the trouble of trying to balance the Clintons books to prove the legitimacy of her statement.

We know when someone is feeding us a line.

Sadly, the most of em have very short memories and dollar signs in their eyes so as soon as she starts with the "free stuff" campaign they will be hooked again. They never learn.

Geez you are turning into Shane.

Middle America elected Bill twice! Watch and learn. She certainly doesn't relate to you. But you are not America.

    And so I did.

Sure. I'm not even sure I'm voting for Hillary in 2016. She was my candidate in 2008. But I will throw a wrench into the right-wing anti-Hillary rhetoric around here, when it is ridiculous.

You asked me if I imagined that she was Kenyan. You really believe that's a legit question? I don't "imagine" anything about Hillary but for the record, no, I don't imagine she is Kenyan.

There is no correlation between how one votes and whether they relate to the candidate. Dubya was elected twice! And yes, I am very much middle America.

And of course, I will point out her lying ways and deceitful nature when it becomes ridiculous.....which is most every day.

Middle America relates more to the Clinton's than anyone on the right. That's completely true.

Sadly if and when she is elected its gonna be the same ole song and dance. Democrats will take back the senate, maybe the house but i doubt it because it's been gerrymandered to the point where that's nearly impossible, and the democrats will argue with each other, be a bunch of pussies, and not get shit accomplished because they will be too busy trying to get republicans to like them.

We are stuck with 2 political parties who absolutely suck. The democrats ideas what used to be republican ideas in the 80's and the republicans have turned into fascists.

We need to ditch party affiliation, get the money out of politics and start electing people who work for us, not the lobbyists.
