    Com'on Red. You know better. The Clinton's were never in danger of being poor. They had book deals, speaking opportunities, Bill's presidential retirement, his library organization lined up that assured them they would always be in the 1%. This by their own admission. If you looked at the Clinton's as a corporation (which they resemble more than a regular family) whatever their balance sheet they would be rated a strong buy for their guaranteed and potential income stream.
    That is the very antithesis of being broke in the vernacular. She used the term to attempt to compare herself to others who truly have financial distress. Even you should be able to acknowledge this. Though I doubt you ever will.

    Please, don't try to tell me what I know. I'm telling you that very clearly.

    All of you are intentionally ignoring the context of her remarks and making assumptions about what she was trying to do. Listen carefully or just go and see the damned video, Rush. Dianne Sawyer was asking her about why she and Bill Clinton hit the speech circuit so hard after the left office. So she explained that they came out of the White house underwater financially, had a daughter to educate and large legal bills, (ALL TRUE and documented) so they had to get busy earning some money. Damn good reasons and an honest answer.

    Sorry if it doesn't fit your political agenda. Do you seriously imagine that Hillary was trying to draw comparisons between herself and the poor? She did nothing of the kind! She never said she was poor! Only dead broke at that point. She answered Dianne Sawyer's question about working so hard to raise several million dollars after leaving office. Because they owed more money than they possessed. They were not worried about raising the money, they were not worried about being poor. They simply had to go out and raise enough money to get out of debt and they did.

    Simple 4th grade math eludes you still. When your debt exceeds your assets, you are broke. It doesn't matter if you earn more money later and get rich. A child can understand this.

    The Clinton's had FAR MORE BUYING POWER than 99% of ALL AMERICANS.

    That's not broke when you have access to that much capital.
