red I know "assault" definitions vary a lot from state to state but would that be a "battery?" I think in Louisiana "assault" is a threat and the actual "touching" is "battery." amiright?
Essentially, but they go hand in hand. All batteries are assaults, but not all assaults are batteries. If the intent is there and an injury is severe or a weapon is used, it can rise to aggravated assault and battery. It may be argued that coordinated spearing of a helpless individual with a helmet and hard shoulder armor is both intent to assault and aggravated battery. Those objects have been known to cause severe injuries or death even to well-prepared and similarly armored targets. With much historical precedent, helmets, shields, and armor can be considered combat weaponry.
they are the same charge in texas. which i think means unless the ref physically threatened them they are going down. or else they prove it was unintentional. which aint happenin.
The article said it was payback for what the two deemed a bad call by the ref earlier in the game. Bullshit, put em in a gang not on a football team. After they get out of jail
is it wrong to want to beat the ever living fuck out of someones kids. i guess i really want the parents. how about all of the above. that guy coulda easily had his back broken. tough sob got up immediately. or maybe his hair just lifted him up.
There is no question that the coach is a pussy if he doesn't kicks those two jackasses off of his team. I hope the ref presses charges. Sure, refs make some shitty calls...they shouldn't be assaulted, though.
He probably has a school board lawyer telling him to do nothing until the police investigation is done. But he has to dismiss them when they let him or he can forget about his coaching future.
