He's got the best hands out of the backfield, IMO. JV is good, but in terms of catching the ball, Addai has the edge.
Broussard has the most power and 40 speed, JV is the best cutback guy, Carey has the best wiggle and suprising power for his size, but Addai is really good at it all, just not great, and is the best reciever. He is the most important player on the field on 3rd down, because he can run and he is like having another wideout and gets matched up with a linebacker or safety. He is the toughest guy on the team and i look for him to do well next year and be drafted as a wideout.
With Whitworth, most of the OL, and all of our RBs returning, plus Miles' power running game, we shouldn't have problems running against teams like Troy, like we did this year.
Saying JV will have a better year next year ought to be a given. However if he doesn't sell his dancing shoes and decide to run North and South expect more of the same. Addai and Broussard or by far the two backs we will want on the field next year.
Addai was not granted anything by the NCAA. He is only a junior. It was shyrone carey and ronnie prude that was given an extra year. Justin Vincent might not see the field again as long as Addai and Broussard are still there.
ok everybody that is saying brousard is more talented then JV, were you saying those things last year? we have no idea who the more talented runner. We will see, but i'm willing to bet JV gets more pt then Joe next year and is prolly going to be the starter if he works hard in the off season. In Mile's system you have to have vision and JV has the best vision of all the backs.
Broussard is FASTER and BIGGER, simple as that... JV benefited from the O-Line last year, with big gaping holes for his cutback/slashing style.
I hate it when I'm wrong but always willing to admit it: REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2002) LSU's No. 3 tailback ... Played in 12 games with one start ... Started season-opener at fullback against Virginia Tech ... Ranked third on squad with 438 yards on 80 carries ... Rushed for four TDs, including a 63-yarder on the first play of the second half vs. Kentucky ... Averaged 5.5 yards per carry ... Rushed for 91 yards on nine carries in win over Kentucky ... Had 98 yards and a pair of TDs in victory over Louisiana-Lafayette ... Scored LSU's only TD vs. Auburn ... Caught six passes for 81 yards ... Redshirted in 2001 as a true freshman. TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON (2001) Played in two games for the Tigers ... Finished season with 27 yards rushing on eight carries ... Had 28 yards on seven carries in season-opener vs. Tulane ... Also had one carry for minus-1 yard vs. Kentucky ... Granted a medical redshirt.
