Every fanbase wants a winner. If your coach wins like miles and saban has, you are gonna like them. Nothing trumps winning. A coach can be a dick but if he wins it's all good. Your coach can be a really nice guy but if he doesn't win everyone will call for his head.

When Saban was hired, I recall that Morris Watts (Saban's OC at Mich St and former OC under Dinardo), told Saban that the LSU program was a sleeping giant and a great job. Saban didn't make the best first impression and seemed odd with his turtlenecks. I remember listening to Hanagriff at the time and him talking repeatedly that if Saban wins games, support from the fanbase would follow.
