According to Glen Guilbeau, the writer, Miles did proclaim that Hester would start. Miles roughly said, If I had to put an order to it, it would be Hester, Scott, Williams and Murphy. I already said he expected all of them to play in my opening post.
What a great "problem" to have. The one thing that seems assured is that in the fourth quarters and later in the season, we'll have fresh backs to carry the load. In the bruising SEC, some injuries will be unavoidable, even if only dings. With our load of top backs, we should be in good position the entire year. With our bruising schedule, we need all these guys to perform.
What ever he says think just the opposite. :dis: I say it's a good problem to have. Not many teams have potentially three future NFL backs in their backfield. GC will find a way to get all of them involved, maybe not on the same night but they will all get their carries during the season as long as they perform on the field.
I was about to say, can someone please slam the person that brought up the worst "beat writer" in the United States (if not the world? I think a Kurdish immigrant that didn't know a lick of English could write better than Gilbleaux).
This is what Miles actually said on his radio show. I'll be surprised if Hester gets the most carries this year.
I also dont see him getting the most carries but I think he will get the 2nd most. However, he could get the most touches on offense this year if you include catches. But who knows how the RB approach this year plays out until we see hw their abilities gel together. Hester will be on the field the most this year. While the other RBs are splitting carries, Hester will be doing much of the dirty work at FB.
I agree. Hester will probably get the most snaps, but not necessarily the most carries. He'll be in on obvious passing situations, be the 3rd down RB, lineup at FB, etc. But I don't think he'll be the RB when we want to line up and play some smash mouth football.
I didnt disagree with your statement until the smash mouth part of it. Hester is one of our smash mouth RBs. He was the best at running between the tackles last year and moving the chains. He is less finese than KW or RM and some would have a good argument to say the same about CS. Maybe you have a different definition of smash mouth football than I do. BTW, if this sounds like I am am being an a$$, I am not. I am enjoying the discussion.:thumb:
