Re: Jacob Hester: Heart of a Champion - Winning TD Pic That's it Tommy Banks. Man that was bothering me. Thanks a load Richdog:thumb: That picture just reminded me alot of that play.
I was just thinking that Hester reminds me of what I know about Jim Taylor. Not the fastest or most gifted back, but plays with a lot of heart. I don't know, I just see Hester and think of old school football. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Absolutely old school. Lunch pail type. He says: just tell me what I need to do to help this team win. You need a first down, you got it. You need a five yarder, you got it. You need a TD, you got it. You need me to pick this team up and carry it on my back, you got it. He definitely needs a leather helmet.
Hester's performance last night shows us that we should trust the coaches to make the right calls for personnel. For that matter, CLM should be lauded for his giant cojones throughout the fourth quarter. A great night to be a Tiger - never prouder of a Tiger team than last night!
Re: Hester I had just told my friends they need to get Hester involved...I never expected to see what I saw! This kid never gives up and is refreshing to watch. Congrats Hester.....for giving us this win!!
LOL............That makes me think......Why not have an award at the end of the year for the player who plays with the "old school" spirit? You know, the one who leaves if all on the line for dear old LSU. He might not even be a pro prospect, but one who gives every ounce of energy and dedication for the Ole War School. The old timers of LSU would eat it up....reminding them of "their" generation.....just a thought..... Maybe a bust of a player wearing a leather helmet...........
