When liberals accuse Republicans of doing something wrong, 80% of the time it is Democrats who are guilty. The American people have lost trust in Bush's trust and integrity "because his administration is playing politics with our national security," Dean said in a press release. Oh Really? Ever hear of Somalia or Bosnia, Howard? Where in the hell were the anti-war Democrats then? They were silent, but as soon as a Republican runs things, he is a war monger who is trying to steal Arab oil to give to his filthy rich oil buddies. I call that politics and Democrats are experts at playing politics with our National Security. One only needs to look at every piece of legislation designed to increase the security of American citizens and you will find Howard Dean and other liberals opposing it and talking about how it violates our liberties. The Patriot Act, The creation of the Department of Homeland Security and arming our troops with body armor are just a few things that many (not all) Democrats have opposed. Let us not forget the leaked memo in which Democrats were caught conspiring to oppose the war in Iraq for political gain. I would say that is not only treason but a definitive act of playing politics with our National Security. When a leftist claims he/she is against the liberation of Iraq and Afghanistan, they are only following DNC orders. http://www.patriotsforbush.com/archives/2005/07/index.html#000190
No arguments here the Democrats are wrong alot, probably more than the Republicans. That's true alot of Americans have lost faith in the President. Lots of polls show this. First George H Bush sent us into Somalia. Bosnia was a sanctioned by the international community. The war in Iraq is not. That is what the Dems seem to moan about the most. I completely disagree with them there. I don't much care what the world community thinks when America is at risk. My only problem is Iraq nor Saddam posed any threat to us. We really should have listened to what the rest of the world was telling us. Most everything in this statement is just wrong. The Patriot Act passed both houses almost unanimously. I don't know how you can say the Dems opposed it. They have made some noise about renewing it and making it permanent. It really does go to far when a speeding ticket can bring on charges of an act of terrorism. I know that is a way strict interpretation, but the Patriot Act is scary. There needs to be more checks with it. The Democrats were the first to support the Dept .of Homeland Security and then the Republicans got on board much later. Thery were initially opposed to its creation. I am with you on the body armor thing. That was just atrocious that our Congress will vote to send our military to war and then oppose funding them. The Democrats pushed me to the right on that one. That was probably the 2nd biggest reason I didn't vote Kerry.
She has already been "OFFED." She just lies there, then when someone gets "off" of her, she yells--NEXT. Hard to believe Mr. Money couldn't do better than that.
Actually its too bad they never got married! What would it have said about the diversity of this great country: To have Jane Fonda 1st lady of the country! :hihi: :usaflagwa  Joke time: What would you get if John Kerry and Jane Fonda had a child? A Frenchman :hihi:
I'm not going to get into the Fonda thing, but does anybody that has responded to this post disagree that the Vietnam conflict was "wrong war, wrong place, wrong time?" Notice, i'm not connecting Vietnam with Iraq, asking solely about Vietnam, since we have 30 years of hindsight built up.
I wasn't around then, so I can't comment too much about it. But from what I have learned, I don't feel it was necessarily the wrong war, but I do feel that it was mismanaged. I think there were many decisions that were made at the highest level that ended up hurting our chances in the war. Sometimes I tend to think of it as a proxy war of a bigger war, that being the Cold War. Obviously, it was of a much larger scale than some of the other conflicts that occurred during the Cold War, but in all conflicts we were still fighting communism.
We had the wrong management at the time. But I did not run. I did not want to go in service. However, it was "my" country calling me. Wrong management? Maybe....but the majority of the American voters put these people in office. And it was my duty to serve. I don't know of any soldier that didn't at one time or another, question our involvement. Many became bitter. Many lost friends. But bitches like Ms. "Fondle-me please" are still free to complain and critisize. She can make movies. Marry the wealthiest man in the US. Try that if she had been born in VN. I was not "in country" as many of my friends were. I was at the Pentagon where years later, the terrorist made quite a hole. When we came home, the first thing we wanted to do was get out of that uniform because so many people acted like "we" were to blame. In my lifetime of almost sixty years, there is ONE thing I wish could be changed......either keep our asses out or let us WIN this f'n thing and come home honorably. o: :usaflagwa :911: Sorry....but that's one hell of a subject to me.
Speaking of Vietnam mismanagement... In 1966 my dad applied for officer training school. He was in ROTC for 4 years at LSU and had been in the top 2% of his class in everything. At that time everyone was required to do ROTC. The same day he got his letter of rejection letter for officer training shcool (because his blood pressure was to high) his draft notice came in the mail. He had already taken a job as a teacher so he got a deferment, but that just goes to show what a steaming pile of beuracracy the military is.
