    What offense?

In big games their isn't any.

Virginia Tech last year, kentucky last year, Auburn last year
Georgia this year, FLORIDA this year.

Btw, Kentucky wasn't a big game!

Gee How lucky were we to win against Georgia,
By a field goal kicker that's how.

I like the coaches but how do you fix an offense that doesn't
show up for big games, pattern emerging.

Our offense shows up for cupcakes only!;)

I would've rather lost to Georgia and beat the tar out of Fla
after the wippon's we got from Spurrier's team over the years.

    I hate the Gators!:cuss:

Worst offensive performance I have ever seen. Worst called offensive game by Fischer/Saban I have ever seen. Do we have any plays in the playbook where a wide receiver flies down the sideline instead of slanting or crossing over the middle? By late 3rd quarter, Florida's safeties were camping out on the hash marks, lighting up any LSU receiver that dared to cross them. You have to open up the field. Don't tell me Clayton does not have the speed to run a fly route, I've seen him do it before.

You cannot put this game on Mauck. Several times, in what were obvious miscommunications on routes, Mauck would deliver a perfectly thrown ball to where he expected the receiver to be, only the receiver had run an out, instead of a slant, or vice versa. Several catchable balls were dropped, but once again, these were over-the-middle passes that our receivers dropped because they heard the footsteps of a Florida safety coming to ring their bell. We have got to throw deep balls outside the hash marks, or every defense we face from here on out is going to know how to beat LSU.

Give Florida credit. They played a great game. Most importantly, they didn't beat themselves. I just knew sooner or later Chris Leak was going to make a "freshman mistake" that would put us in business. Well, he didn't. No fumbles, no interceptions. We must have had eight or nine sacks in the game, because when Leak felt heat, he took the sack, instead of lofting a dying duck pass that could be picked off. Great game by the freshman. And kudos to Ron Zook and Charlie Strong, they obviously had us scouted well, even though I think we stopped ourselves more than Florida stopped us. Unless Florida loses every game from here on out (highly unlikely), Zook just silenced FRZ and bought himself another year.

Great game by our defense. They just can't do it alone. They had no help. Our offense played like absolute garbage. No excuses.

well, i would say that the defense played well with the exception of covering the backs out of the backfield, they killed us three times with huge plays on blitzes when the backs weren't picked up and caught balls with no one around

    We will bounce back.

    We will bounce back.

But I have to doubt that we will win the West and make it to Atlanta.

We'll need Auburn and Ark to suffer some injuries to their key players in order for us to win those games.

I'm sorry, but both of those teams are better than LSU right now.

Here's to hoping that we can improve.

I agree with you Jean, Our team isn't good enough offensively
    to win the west.
Unless some changes are made or somehow we find the offense
our team won't win the west.

BTW... I hope one day we can make Herbstreet eat his words.
If LSU was playing Tulane he would pick Tulane to win

Jean - I don't agree with you on that one - at least from an AU vs. LSU point of view. Passing teams have off games, which you had. Right now, you aren't an effective running team. However, if you do find your pass groove again, I still think our O is very suseptable to a solid passing game, especially with your team WR Speed.

    We shall see.

All I know is that the SEC gets more and more interesting each week.

Shake it off, it was a tough game . .ya'll will be back. God knows we went though this already.

Gotta keep those freshmen on the bench and preserve the redshirts. 4 years of those guys is better than 3 and a little bit o' nuthin. Playing them now would be like waving the flag on this season. They are learning every day by practicing and studying film. I know there is nothing like big game experience, but Saban is saving them for the future of the program. With those guys on the roster, QB recruiting will be tough to come by, just like when Booty, Rohan, and Nall were all on the roster at the same time.

One game. The coaches will review the film tonight, make their plans tomorrow, and get to practicing on Monday to correct the mistakes. Then begin preparations so that they can take out some frustrations on the chickens.
