EXactly my Point. its no cake walk in the SEC Bama is getting alot of love the same way they did in SHula's last yr when they were 6-0 and we went to Tusc ker Looser.

History has a way of repeating itself. Saban is good but IMHO its too early yet for them. If Bear Bryant was alive, Id book my tickets for Bama in the BCS CG Saban is great/ good but he aint Bear

Bama will drop one or two SEC games b4 the yr is up. LSU is one of them.

i like sitting all back of the bus, being ranked high and losing to an unranked opponent ( hello it can happen in the sec) the only benefit of being ranked so high and losing early on , is the ability to make up some ground to get back into bcs bowl contention.

and i dont doubt for one minute that USC, OK or mizzo wouldnt tgive us a hard fight if we played them--- mizzo passes for 450 a game and on our secondary that's entirely possible and OK-- they score at will also- it's like the coach is up in the booth playing ncaa 09 or something saying "watch this" and schooling a 9 y.o. hoping he doesnt "quit " the game

I think some would just as soon forget it, ppl seem to forget how much talent this team still has on it (I'm as guilty as anyone)...would be something if they snuck in there at the end and....hmmm well, getting a little ahead of myself...with GA, FLA and the Gumps still on the schedule...I'm still wearing the (rather worn) LSU cap they won two national championships with...hope its still got some magic still in it.:tigereye:

I don't see Mizzou leapfrogging us. Bama might with victories over two ranked teams, but it doesn't worry me much. They have to play LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee, yet. Bama seems to have found themselves a coach, which surprises nobody around here, . . . but they still are not very deep yet. A couple of key injuries and Bama could find itself struggling with the rugged SEC schedule.

the only significance to bama leapfrogging lsu is the tigers lose a game early then are ranked behind others late in the season because of it.

but there is no doubt that bama should be #1 now.

This statement right here defines LSU chances of winning it all. If and when you all win out you will be playing Oklahoma in the NCG. So all the polls in the world don't mean anything as where you are ranked right now if you win out. So just keep winning and all will be well. I know I will be pulling for you guys as I have deep and abiding hatred of the Gumps almost as much as I hate tsun. :geaux:

    I think its:

    1. Alabama
    2. Oklahoma
    3. Missouri
    4. Texas
    5. Georgia
    6. Florida
    7. LSU

Until LSU can play more consistent pass defense, I don't see them being at the same level of those top teams.

If that rookie substandard QB from MSU toasted LSU (and is should have been worse had Ducre' not dropped that pass) what is Tebow, Stafford, and JD Parker going to do to us?

Bradford, Daniel, and McCoy would also rack up big numbers against us.

Unless LSU gets this fixed, there is no hope of a NC. Right now, I think the Outback Bowl is the most likely destination for LSU. But not to worry, Tampa is a great place to be on Jan 1.

As it stands right now, Alabama wins the conference. UGA goes to the Sugar Bowl, UF goes to the Capital One.

Now, if LSU suddenly can start to play pass defense, get a better pass rush and contain the QB in the pocket, there might be hope.

But after the MSU game, I am not confident. Hopefully, after the UF game, I'll be proven wrong.

Are you serious? We're not at the level of a team that just lost a home game to UNRANKED ole Miss? Ole Miss' 1st conference win since somtime in '06? UGA let Bama jump out to a 31 point halftime lead!!
We have gone on the road and beaten a solid conference opponent already. Other than Bama, who else (in your rankings) has done that? That would be the same Bama team the had a dog fight against Tulane.

So based on your rankings, GA is better than LSU, so Bama will come into our stadium and put a smackdown on us.

I don't see it. I believe we will beat Bama in Tiger Stadium. Bama's quarterback had the night of his life. I don't think he will continue to play at that level. Fl looks very suspect. Their offense is not clicking at all. They are trying to use Tebow as a drop back QB. Their problem last year was the 2 minute offense, and I don't see any improvement there. I think LSU and FL is a pick em. If we can get our Defensive players healthy, with 2 weeks to prepare, we can beat them. Ole Miss proved that point.

I agree that I dont feel too confident with the way the safteties and LBs cover. Yes some of the Big 12 teams would really look to exploit it. Truth is though LSU has a very potent offense when its fully unleashed. The Big 12 has great Os but they lack shut down Ds. Mizzou made Juice Williams look like an All America QB. Im not sold on Mizzou or Tex Tech. Ou and Texas are more well rounded, but still dont have a great D. That said I like watching Mizzou, Daniel is the best player right now in the country. I just think if they consistently played against teams with a good D, they wouldnt be as good because their D has too much trouble stopping people.
