I know...that post wasnt really directed at you just quoted you cuz it related to "lack of respect", which is why I made sure to point it out that I wasn't trying to single you out. But there has been a lot of whinning, not just on this board, but on the radio, other boards, and newspaper articles about how LSU gets no respect and its just setting it us up to be humiliated!!!!
well thats just the way it is...and it sucks its like that, but fans whinning about it doesn't help...just makes us look borderline pathetic. Trust me EVERY good SEC school (AU, UF, UGA, LSU, UT) all think they don't get enough respect....its just the way it is!!
I just say whenever Gameday shows up here, if he still has not given credit where credit is due, we all just chant " Herbs an @sshole" until he runs off stage crying, and Clair jumps up outta the crowd to take his seat!:thumb:
Herbie has said last that last week when gameday was shutting down that all 3 of them thought they would be heading to Auburn this week for the biggest game in the country. I've heard him lavish praise on LSU since last season, talking over and over about the talent, program, JR, etc. I think most of you guyus expecting him the ESPN guys to pick LSU as the best at everything and give blowjobs to every fan or they are bias and stupid. This respect issue cracks me up. It's not about respect, it's about getting picked to be the best at everything.
I agree with Geauxscott. If a pundit picks the #3 team playing at home over a # 7 team, that's not a lack of respect to the lower ranked team. That's using his head. If the complaint is that the lack of respect is what makes us #7 to their #3, then that will be settled by nightfall tomorrow. Next week, even if LSU wins, the ESPN guys will be all over the winners of ND/Mich and USC/Neb. That's just the way it is. If you really need to get your LSU gushing with praise fix, watch WBRZ and WAFB. They love the Tigers.
I don't care what this prick says anymore. Not giving LSU attention actually inspires the team IMO. I can't believe I'm saying this, but in Herby's defense he is probably basing his opinion on the game last year and probably hasn't really seen nothing more than highlights of the Arizona game. With the limited knowledge and the history of last years game I can't really blame him. Everyone remembers the 5 missed field goals, so he probably thinks AU should've won and now LSU has lost a lot on defense and OL and has young players. But no one remembers that LSU dropped what 2 TD passes which would've sealed the game. I liked Mark Mays comments though, he was a good balance to Herby last night. I can't wait for the game though. I'm worried about the OL a bit and our defense being young and inexperienced getting baited and I've heard AU's Vaughn is now one heck of a kicker. I was talking with an AU grad at work and he went to a game and during pre-game he was kicking 50yarders with plenty to spare. However in one game he missed a 45, but was penalized and then had to kick a 55yd FG. He made it easily. So I'm worried about Vaughn too. BTW, WV looked like LSU whipping Arizona last night. Fowler said that WV might be under-ranked at #5. I don't think they could handle an LSU or AU like they did UGA last year.
That's true but it is largely based on our legendary safeties. Auburns cornerbacks are ALL-SEC caliber and one is an All-American candidate. I'm confident our receivers are up to the challenge but it is a mistake to underestimate Auburns cornerbacks. If Muschamp has good cover corners, he'll bring the house against Russell Saturday. Hebie did his homework here.
