The best player to counter that satement with is Steve McNair. I'd say McNair is the best quarterback in the NFL with the possible exception of Brett Favre. And McNair doesn't get anywhere near the hype of McNabb, Peyton, and Favre.
Switzer recruited Aikman to OU with a promise that OU would become a passing offense. When Aikman went down either before the season or real early in the season, he was replaced by Jamaille Holliway (sp?). OU went on to win the N.C. Aikman saw the writing on the wall and transferred to UCLA with Switzers help/blessing.
Hello ... Rohan Davey and dare I say Herb Tyler were not too shabby at the college QB position. Rohan still has a shot to make his mark in the pros.
Why does he necessarily have to be a "hater" or a "cracker" for asking that question? Aren't we all getting just a little too sensitive here?
I never said he was... a "craker," but his co-worker just might be if he said that black QBs never live up to the hype. I simply asked him the question if he was a "hater" as a joke in trying to find his reason for asking the question. Who's being sensitive here? I classify myself as a "smartass whiteboy." That might not be so PC, either, but I can call myself anything I want.
Re: I never said he was... Sorry, man...I must've misread your meaning. Sometimes I can be a little slow on the uptake.
Re: I never said he was... Hey, me too! However, sometimes I like to take long walks on the beach and just be an ass.
