Deffinatly pace yourself if you are drinking. For the UL-Lafeyette game last year I overdid it a bit and passed out in the bleachers before the game started. But amazingly I woke up and bolted to my feet the instant I heard the LSU band play their pregame routine on the field and I was rocking and rolling the next 3 hours. I just needed a little recharge.
The Radisson is nice and if you bring your laptop you can get high speed internet in your room. The Fairfield Inn off of Essen Lane is nice and very reasonably priced and they have an indoor pool and a hot tub. The hot tub might feel pretty good by Sunday morning. The City Cafe on Perkins Road about a mile past Seigan Lane has great gumbo and a really good seafood platter. It casual and not too expensive. If you stay at the Radisson Ruth's Chris steakhouse is right down the street and has great steaks but its a bit pricey. If you want to splurge Primeaux's on Bluebonnet is very expensive but the food is fantastic. Best pizza is at the Fleur de lis on Govenment St. If you go there on Friday try to get there early or you will have to wait about an hour after you order before you get your pizza. Georges Southside and Sammy's about 6 miles south of Tiger Stadium on Highland both have great po boys and a friendly crowd of beer drinking Tiger fans. Try the Buffalo wings if you go to Georges. Their wing sauce is a little different from anywhere else I have tried but they are great.
Definitely don't stay at the Embassy. That place has gone to hell. I usually now stay at the Richmond Suites off of Corporate, near the Marriot. If you can get rooms, try there...
Thanks again you guys. This has all been very helpful. I'll probably drop in again closer to gametime to see if there is anything new I need to know about. Good luck this season, and we'll see you all in October. Jeff
