LSU doesn't rebuild. We reload. Having said that, I'm disappointed we were blown out. That's my biggest complaint Losing in the swamp at night to a motivated Florida team playing a do or die game isn't that big of a deal. Heck, we lost last year AT HOME in the last game of the season to an inferior Arkansas team. Florida is a more veteran team than us, I'm fine with that. With the way college football is now, all we can do is move on since one loss isn't gonna knock you far. I can't blame people for being overly pissed off. It shows they have some passion for LSU, but ya still gotta show some discernment and know it's not the end of the world. Win or lose, we're still LSU and we still have to have pride in the team.
would you rather lose on a fluke play at the end of the game after dominating the other team? I'd rather get blown out. It wasn't our night. Florida played over their heads (maybe because of RJF's comments, but I'd like to think it was because they HAD to win).
All Im saying is that I got over this loss a lot faster than both losses last year. Last year, we lost twice to teams we were suppose to handle with ease, in triple overtime, while fighting for the NC. It took me the whole week to get over those defeats and it almost made me sick. This loss did suck, especially the way the second half of the 3rd quarter and 4th quarter were played out...BUT, I was done with it before I went to sleep. There are two two issues that I have that came from that game...but that is for another time when SOME people around here finally chill out. Now...all y'all should be so lucky...I have to run around central FLA hearing about it till next years game in BR.
100% in agreement. I'd MUCH rather lose to a superior team on the road than lose to a crap team at hoe like last year. At least it was respectable for a few minutes into the third quarter. After Florida got up by two scores again, the defense quit...and they'll probably regret that as the practice week progresses. The offense was still trying...the passing game in particular...but the pick six by an all-american LB on the RS Frosh quarterback sealed it for the team. Youthful mistakes. Last year's veteran team never gave up. That kind of trait has to be learned and earned through defeat. Our team should have much more character from here out.
I agree and think we all need perspective. I think LSU drums USC this week simply because they have learned a very hard lesson. No one will cower to LSU because they have been one of the best teams int he nation for several years and the defending national champion. If there is one thing I wish I would see going forward is some humbleness from this team. They seem to talk a ton of smack, and kind of make asses of themselves on the class part at times. For example was it neccessary for Harry Coleman to talk smack and get in the face of Tebow when we were down 17-0 and he tackled him on the 4 yard line. I guess my point I hope this beating will get the guys to realize that playing hard and being fired up is one thing. Jawing to a team that is hanging half a hundred on you, and bumping chests after giving up an 8 yard gain is well.... Kind of embarrasing and not what we expect from LSU tigers. Not to pick on Coleman, I saw several LSU players doing it.
The gestures and running the mouth was still going on with 2 minutes left in the game. You just had 51 hung on you and you're out there talking stuff. I just don't understand it. o:
In my Sunday morning golf league several of my friends pointed out "Why was LSU doing grave digger dances and bumping chests getting beaten by 3 touchdowns" I can handle the loss, except for the one florida guy I play with no one mentioned the beat down just the fact LSU players where high fiving and dancing after 20 yard gains. But I have to admit I was kind of embarrased more about that then total of the loss. Not that anyone cares that I was embarrased of course. But if I was I am sure other LSU fans where. I will say I wore the LSU hat and Shirt proudly this morning. We still have two while a few have one and most have none. Purple and Gold brutha...
Here, here, I raise my glass to you sir. Rebuild, start over, whatever. Be proud of your team every year. That is me. A proud Tiger.
1. Don't call people here idiots 2. Schools who believe in rebuilding years are . . . . well . . . . like ULL.
Great post, my friend, I agree with you I was also over the loss before I went to bed, and I feel for you to living in Florida, I live in Mississippi which is why I want them to beat lefire:, the lefire: fans here were already giving me a hard time, and that is even before Saturdays game. Yep, that is me too, I am always a proud Tiger fan, no matter what, I might not be a happy fan, but I am still a fan.
