Miss state I dont think is as talented as the other two yet....at the very least depth wise, but I will say this......I think Dan Mullens is a very very good coach and will be the next hot thing in college football.
What many teams, especially high flying west coast teams, fail to realize is that hard core linemen make championship teams. All the talking heads get all steamed up on glitz and glee with spread option crap and gimmick offensive schemes when teams in the sec win championships with great big men up front. Big , strong and smart offensive linemen create great runningbacks and allow qb's the time needed to pass. Big, strong and fast defensive linemen destroy glitzy gimmick offenses and shut down under sized runningbacks that rely on speed but lack power. The unsung heros in the trenches make great teams champions. Glitz and glamor offenses get shut down and weak defenses get exposed by the power of sec linemen. Other conferences with great teams , both past and present, have had the same winning formula. Big , strong and fast linemen win championships.
I agree with ya. He's got them boys overachieving. They were pretty dang close to taking down Auburn last year, if only they had a QB. They play football the right way, just need a little more creativity in their offense.
I hear you, just for fun, I am going to go laduckfan style on you Missouri State actually had 163 yards of total offense. They only ran 49 offensive plays
Creativity is there, mullins is an offensive mastermind(just ask florida since he's gone) they just lack a few more serious playmakers.
LOL.....missouri state played arkansas....I was referring to albamas defense....against kent state......and going laduckfan back at ya.....kent state actually had 139 yards of total offense.
yep a friend of mine coaches a kid at church point high, who is 6'4" weighs 304lbs, runs a 4.6 40, and is just a junior, lsu has already talked to the kid, but his grades are going to be an issue, but talented.....the sky is the limit, he just has to work harder at school.
