Im pretty excited to find out. I like using Tulane as our lab experiment. ...yet. Its all part of the process.
I heard about this today about noon, but I kinda blew it off because I wanted to verify it before I came here and said anything about it.. I don't like to be "that guy with a 'reliable' source"..If it happened yesterday at practice (that's what I was told), I'm surprised it took this long for it to leak out. My boss talks to Ciron Black from time to time, so I asked him to check on it. If anything new and interesting is relayed back I'll be sure to share. My only question is, If JJ starts being used often, who will the fans cry for now? Who's the next guy in line?
im sure most onliners knew about it too but we sometimes like to wait til its verified. then you'll be, "that guy". not sure since they'll have to ask crip first.
Perhaps I should have clarified by saying "That guy" that heard it through his uncle's mother's cousin's sister's half-brother that heard it from Ramah.... I'll name my source if I got any goods for yall, you all should know that..
Jefferson is capable of running the option for sure, and he's got the arm to make all the throws - the question is his understanding of the offense. I don't think he'll see as much PT as Hatch has, but he'll be used some.
I don't think his understanding of the entore offense will be that big of a deal. Even if they let himthrow the football it will be the as elementary as possible at first. Should he show an ability to handle the pressure he is about to be under, then he better know the damn offense because they will have to turn him loose. To be honest, as excited as I am to see him get a chance to play, I would be surprised if he will be anything more than a 3 to 5 play a game distraction for the defense right now. I don't know if that's good or not. I think they shoul just let him go with it and see what happens. If he struggles to much go back to Lee. That isn't going to happen though.
