I thought the fact that Harris got NO snaps in that game was ridiculous! He is obviously the QB of the future. Les starts harris against the #2 team in the country, when lsu could not run the ball to save their lives. Then turns around in the next game against Florida(a bad team) and starts Jennings, who by the way did nothing to help LSU win that game.......LSU won that game because of the O-line abd the running backs, that win had NOTHING to do with Jennings, and yet we could not get Harris ANY snaps, thats a joke......Jordan Jefferson syndrome all over again, Harris will get buried away untill jennings stinks it up again because we can not run the ball.
He didn't throw a TD to Dural or convert a 3rd and 25, or convert a 3rd and long on an out to Trey Quinn for a first down? Auburn's D isn't nearly as good as Florida's defense. Both on the road, Jennings to this point (talent aside) is the best quarterback on this team.
What kind of message does that send to your senior class? Thanks for the years of service men, we are gonna call this season a wash and prepare for the future and go with Brandon Harris because it's all about next year your senior season be damned.
What are you drinking???? First off tell me that Jennings TD Pass and critical 1st down pass were not key plays? Likewise several of the short passees to Melvin Jones were more than helpful. Also Jennings maintained composure and managed the game well with NO turnovers. Now next tell me where you would have put Harris in that game? There was no place in the game where Jennings needed to be replaced. To put Harris in for form's sake is usually destructive to both. We are playing to WIN not prepare for the future sport. I agree Harris has more talent and upside but as the Auburn game showed he has much room to grow. I hope and expect to see him play next week and become the starter (and hopefully a star) soon. However your assertions are just a mindless rant. Take a deep breath and open your eyes to reality.
I can see arguments on both sides here. Never the less I reside in the Harris camp (at this point). We have a young team that can be very special, I think we need to build around that. As far as seniority, if the senior player is better he gets the job. But if the junior player is better he gets the job. Just because you were born 1 year before another guy should not guarantee you the start. That kills competition.
That's not what I meant. I meant sacrificing the season to get Harris who hasn't proved a thing ready for his future. That's patently ridiculous to me.
What am I drinking??? LOL....Jennings was 10 of 21 for 110 yards. The Dural TD was a great play made by Dural a one handed grab that no one else could have made. The 3rd and 25 was a break down in coverage....Jenning did NOTHING to WIN that game. He handed off to #7 to win the game, however he did not make the big mistake that cost LSU the game, that I wil give him....but make NO mistake about it the O-line and #7 won that game......if you cant see that then you need to quit watching football. At no point did I ever say Jennings should not have started or even played most of the game, but their is no reason harris could not have gotten a drive or two, in the first half all jennings was doing was handing the ball off anyway.
So Jennings touched the football on every offensive snap and he had nothing to do with the victory? That's impossible.
And again...if Harris was indeed wearing a boot on his foot all the way until Tuesday of last week, he may not have been able to play. Regardless, to beat Muschamp's Florida teams, we have employed a ball control strategy, and most of the time, it has worked. We needed Jennings to manage the game and avoid turnovers...and he did. He also made some spectacular plays. It's unfair of you to take away from the good plays he did have by calling them busted coverages and circus catches by the WR (it was, but many catches are that way--throwing the ball is not a precise science.) Can't we just enjoy a win that this team desperately needed and not spew hate in the direction of a QB who redeemed himself admirably after a pathetic showing at home against a cupcake?
