There are songs about Christmas, Easter and the 4th of July. Even 1 Halloween song. How come there are no Thanksgiving songs?

shouldn't go with one over 12-14 lbs. a bigger one will take too long to get up to a safe temp at 225 smoking temp

Gpod advice. After 4 hours, no more smoke gets in the meat. So you can always finish in the oven. Also 165 internal temp is recommended for poultry. Just be sure to put the probe next to the thigh bone. That's the last part to cook fully.

Those pop up thermometers work real well. You can check with a manual one to be sure.

Internal temp is different from smoking temp of 225-250.

You know, that is something that I never considered. Thanks for the help. Think I'm going with the original plan. 2 fry 1 in the roaster

Roasted turkey is usually dry. Yesterday while driving around I heard a commercial for some place and they said the chef was boiling turkeys in crab boil. I never ate any like that but it sounds like it might be real good.
