From 9.0 to 8.8 in 3 years. How do the unemployment offices stay open? I'm not. Just wondering when Obama is going to actually do something that he said he would.
I'll be responding with anecdotal evidence; don't expect me to post my business's financials here. I'm in TV, where the vast majority of our revenue is in local advertising. Local business tends to take a backward approach to advertising: they do it when business is good, and when things slow down and they need to do it, its often the first thing they cut. Fact: 2006-08, when the economy was feeling the Bush stimuli you say accomplished nothing, my station had the best 3-year period in its 25 year existence. However, its been awfully slow the last 2 years. While I don't point the finger directly at Obama, I will say this. Every single time - every single time - a client has expressed fear about letting go of money, they site their uncertainty about what Obama is going to do to the economy. In academia where you live, they may fear Republicans. Out here in the real world of business, Obama is seen as the enemy.
In my new job, I walk through about 25-30 doors per day. I typically interview about 8 business owners per day for about 15-20 minutes each. One of the questions I ask is "what is the number one thing affecting your business today?". The number one answer is Obama. The number 2 answer is taxes. This is consistent day in and day out.
During the biggest recession since the great depression. He passes the Health Law. We're out of Combat duty in Afghanistan.
And in 2001-2002 when the economy tanked, and your business shrank, your customers were waiting to see what Bush did with the economy. What's the diff? Of course, the GOP is the party that caters to business. Everyone realizes this. They will always get the business vote. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here.
