Damn, boy, you should start your own huntin', fishin' & food blog. I was just thinking about boiled crabs yesterday but I ain't paying the$4 per crab charge the asshole restaurant owners in Baton Rouge charge.

@jvalhenson when you say string lines, you mean just a string w/ bait and wait for the tug, right?

    You don't use traps?

Well not exactly. Long string with bunch of baits on it staked down at each end and weighted. Leave it a few hours then run it by laying in the bow with dip net just ease along lifting it slowly scooping them as they come up

Sweet! Never thought of that or heard of it. Very cool. How long? How many baits on it? Sounds like a great way to catch them.

    That's the way I've always s
done it. Tie a string to 2 sticks with a drop about every 4 or 5 feet apart. Bait with chicken necks and stick the sticks into the sandy bottom about waist deep. I never waited afew hours like JVal. Drink a beer and then wade out with a net and a bucket and catch the crabs aready on the bait. Repeat beer and run line again. I don't know what Jval is using for bait but if I waited a few hours the chicken necks would all have been eaten
