This from the AUNation message board, from "Chuck" who is an admin on that board:

"Sources" tell me that Rowell is gone and will enroll at Georgia Southern. His parents are for this decison at it will get him away from some "hometown" influences. I think this is good for 3 reasons: 1) Tuberville needed to send a message - show that we have discipline. Rowell was a HS Parade All-American and was moving up the depth chart. To send someone away with that potential shows EVERYONE that he isn't messing around 2) Rowell gets a 2nd chance. While he won't be at Auburn - he has the opportunity to play football and make needed changes in his life 3) His mother agrees and thinks it has to do with the hometown issues. Parental support is key. None of this is official - but I hope its true.

yes bengal B . .I will bet you. Name the amount.

I love it . .1st LSU fans think that Tubby is capable of allowing players to commit sexual harrassment (this was from this board) - now - even though CTT has kicked EVERY PLAYER WHO HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF ANYTHING off the team while he has been coached - you are convinced he is going to keep him and condone this. By the way - this is the first incident in 3 years . . sounds about the same as Saban's record .. doesn't it (hey to Damien James)?

NEWS FLASH - just because you don't like him doesn't mean you can just make up crap about a man - some of you are pathetic with these attempts to discredit CTT's off the field morals. So you don't like how he acted in a few of your games (granted I doubt the 41-7 and 31-7 losses are helping) and all of a sudden he condones sexual harassment, guns, drugs, and alcohol!?!?!

Are you listening to yourselves . . sheesh!

Bengal B - I'll be waiting for you to contact me on that bet. Rowell is done at Auburn - as he should be.

If he is not - I will be the first to be VERY pissed . .

I'll cover a Ben Franklin on that provided that Rowell is not injured at the time of the Tigers - WarPlainEagles game. Rowell is not charged with any felonies. All of the charges are misdemeanors. Hell, I carry a Glock 40 caliber in my vehicle at all times which is legal in Louisiana. So the guy had a few too many beers and was dumb enough to be riding around with a few blunts in his car. Stupid but that dosen't make him a Jeffrey Daumer. By the way Damien James was never arrested for anything. He just screwed up by not showing up for practice for a week and its still not clear whether he quit or was kicked off the team.

Maybe if you capable of such poor sportsmanship as cigar smoking and logo stomping then maybe that isn't to much of a stretch. Players actions reflect the coach's attitude and philosophy . Damien James was part of the #1 ranked defense at the time and was cut. Would Tubby ever have cut Takeo Spikes if he ever messed up or would he be more like DiNardo was? Nate supposedly has paid his debt to society. Blunt boy hasn't yet if I'm correct, tell me if I'm not. It's all semantics in the end.

Hard to say since Tuberville never would have had the opportunity to cut Takeo. Spikes had left early for the NFL before Bowden's term had ended. He left after the '97 season.

Like I said it's all semantics. Who's to say what he would have done. It's all hypothetical. I was using him as an example of someone who as valuable to Auburn defense as Damien James was to LSU's defense. Would he cut someone THAT valuable? The fact that Saban did that to james speaks volumes of him.

I don't think anyone is attacking Saban - I'm merely stating that the following:

    1) CTT has kicked every player (including a top returning receiver, Deandre Green) off the team who has had any problems with the law during his tenure

    2) Just b/c you don't like CTT, and think he is a poor sport - even though he kneeled on the ball this year - it gives you reason to claim that this makes him the type of man to condone sexual harassment, drugs, guns, and alcohol amonst his team. That's just flat out wrong . .and pathetic.

There is also something to be said for CTT never HAVING to be faced with the prospect of kicking a starter off also. Part of College Football is the character of the guys you recruit

OUCH! OH MY GOD THE COLLISION IN THE ASTROS REDS GAME WAS NASTY . .

sorry . .lost my train of though. Don't forget, L. Rowell's top 2 schools were Auburn and LSU.

Part of college football is the character of the guys you recruit. Don't forget, L. Rowell's top 2 schools were Auburn and LSU. Don't remind us! I was unaware Tubby kicked anyone off. Kudos for him! I really didn't think it was part of his character traits. To be fair he is known more as the riverboat gambler than he is a saint.
As an LSU tiger I reserve the right to dislike any opposing SEC team or coach I damn well please. ESPECIALLY ON AN LSU BOARD! IS means he is capable, MAYBE reserves the option that maybe he isn't. I just don't like Auburn, don't take it as a personal attack. If it makes you feel better about yourself to attack me personally feel free. Pathetic is just a word. It's funny you got riled up! I'm amused. I'm sure you don't care for me or my opinion either and it impacts me neither positively or negatively, I just don't care either way. Tubby just strikes me as a classless jack-ass. I sure there are few around here who would disagree with that assessment. Like it or not.
