It's illegal to carry a firearm on campus--even in your car, even if you have a carry permit, even if it is an unloaded hunting rifle. Students risk expulsion as well as felony arrest.
Bunch of kids at the local high school got suspended or expelled and maybe arrested for having their shotguns out in there cars. These kids were going hunting in the morning then going to class. Seems kinda crazy. I know they fought the punishment but not sure if they got them reduced. I personally thought it was BS because they school/cops did it knowing kids were doing this and instead of issuing a warning prior, they just started busting people.
My oldest son is a teacher and he'll part your hair from 30 yards out with a .45. And some unruly students could use a little Old West style larnin'.
excuse me while i go build my underground bunker filling it with guns, ammo, and food rations. clearly, the world is about to end.
i know both liberals and conservatives who are damned good shots, and liberals and conservatives i wouldnt want anywhere near me with a gun because they couldnt hit water if they fell out of an effin boat. i dont mind armed guards or police that are professionally trained in handling guns in schools (as long as they are licensed by the state to carry a gun in their duties such as the cleet certification in oklahoma). that has nothing to do with political beliefs, but that i would not want my child in an environment where some yahoo that thought he could handle a gun went of half-cocked.
exactly. and as a general point i do not agree that guns make anything safer. you dont need a gun. if you are at a place that you think you need a gun, you shouldnt be there. if you are sending your kids to a school where teachers need to be armed, you should send your kids to a different school, or home school them. arming people at the school just makes it worse. this aint the old west.
I probably shouldn't go anywhere then. I don't trust anyone, even less so now than I did when I started buying guns. You also rule out the possibility of the inhabitants of those places you shouldn't go coming to you...which is typically what happens when people get robbed.
I would rather be tried by 12 of my peers than carried to my grave by 6 of my friends and relatives. I don't know what the security situation is at LSU now but in the past I have known girls who were raped while walking across campus at night. If I had a daughter she would carry a pistol in her purse or knapsack and she would know how to use it.
well, baton rouge and new orleans are about as bad as it gets in america. but when i lived there i felt safe. and i certainly feel safe 100% of the time in new york. you and i, we are young males, who is gonna f with us? nobody. no gun necessary.
