I got a feeling you guys will talk more highly of Saban when he retires and you remember what all he did for the Lsu program. He got your program up into the top tier of college football teams. Les has definitely kept you there. I also believe Saban, because he is a defensive coach, can and does make adjustments on defense during games but that is where he expertise lies. Whereas Miles is more offensive minded who makes game time play by play OFFENSIVE decisions which makes defending him harder because you NEVER know what he will pull.

Btw I don't believe he will go to Psu. I think he will retire from Bama. His family is happy here(his wife loves it). He also owns a house on the lake and enjoys boating when he isn't working.

I hope you are right, but you gotta understand that the same things were said here. The fact is, no one knows, and I'd like to think there was a lesson for Saban in terms of what happened with him going from LSU to Miami and then fortunately landing in Tuscaloosa. But we just don't know and you can't dismiss the history.

And for good measure, we still get to hear about Miles and UM from time to time.

I think had he had a choice to leave Miami and go back to Lsu he would have went without hesitation. He still loves the lsu program and the people there.

I agree with this, and this is why I believe he was VERY FORTUNATE to land at a program like yours. Sure, you guys have benefited, but like Brees and New Orleans, this was a co-dependent situation at the outset. He needed you as much as you needed him. :)

I agree w/ your post and will just add that having Saban at Bama is good for the SEC and the SEC West. It makes for an even greater rivalry game for us both each year and helps to keep both programs at the top of their respective game.

That's a good point. I have no doubt that the players that have experienced the intensity of the LSU/bama game the last few years work a little harder in the off season. Good competition brings out the best. That's one of the secrets of the SEC's recent success.

Oops - did bama come out looking small next to LSU up there? My bad.

Saban did plenty but Emmert is the guy behind the curtain that brought our program to where it is today. Nick would say the same and has before. He had a plan that Saban loved and he did his part plus some.

Les has done more than just hold on to what Nick did. LSU football is better right now under Les than it ever was under Nick. Les is in his 7th season and what Les has going now has nothing to do with anyone else ! Not one person but Les and his group and LSU.

As LSU puts up more Ships on the wall it will all be about Les !!!!
