i just finished rewiring my fake chinese gibson with a circuit board with the electronics pre-done, just had to attach a couple wires. at this point my fake gibson is twice as cool looking and plays identically to my real les paul.
I got into playing Bluegrass about 2005. Haven't played much last 10 years, but picked up the old guitar about a month ago and somehow after a few minutes i was playing Wildwood Flower - it was my favorite, but still surprised myself. Dabbling again.
Thanks, Perple. I'm very happy with it. But I already put a small scratch on it. The clasps on the case have some sharp edges on them and I must have inadvertently made contact with one while putting it in the case...kind of like coming out of the grocery store and seeing a door ding in your brand new car...sigh. This guitar is all solid maple and mahogany and the sustain on it is unbelievable. I have a polytune clip on tuner and that shows that it picking up the note of a string for a fair amount of time after I can no longer hear the note audibly.
